I think American Idol is great Entertainment for the whole family, you can't say that about 99% of movies, television or even the Internet; American Idol lets people get together and communicate (even though they may disagree on the merits of one contestant over another.) This, even extends to strangers at the local CoffeeBuck$ or your strange co-workers.
