Next, the nearly brain-dead Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., who is battling cancer. Throw in Barack Obama’s wife Michelle (hey, her kids really need to be in school right now) and you have a mix of losers and a cast of clowns.

As the presidential election looms closer and the race heats up its become obvious that the vast majority of voters that do stand up to be counted are becoming more and more burned out on the so called "televised debates" that seem to "herd" us once again towards the same old stale politics by the same old stale politicains of the same old stale and burnt out partys - which by the way have become harder to tell the difference between the two anymore. We have been subjected once again to the patented and sterile questions from the mediator that is designed to bore the hell out of you and keep you from interfering with the politicians that have been choosen for you by a media that refuses to allow you to see all of the fruit on the tree. More and more the images of people who dare to stand up and question the "authorities" and "candidates" are wisked from the arena and labled "unruly" so as not to raise that red flag in peoples minds - I mean who do these rebels think they are asking anything from their elected officials let alone expecting anything from them once their in office, don't these rebels realize that this is the new world order and you will do as your told and vote for the candidates that are choosen for them?

The GOP supports a flat tax because they say it will simplify the complicated tax code They must think working poor people are not intelligent enough to understand how to do their taxes? This is insulting to every hard working person who happens to be poor.

Like the vast amount of Americans I’m a hard worker but not rich and not dumb. I’m against a flat tax because it’s not far for the middle class and working poor.

One of Americans' favorite pastimes is complaining about how little their jobs pays, or that their job doesn't pay enough for what they have to do. And politicians are more than willing to take advantage of this. The solution many politicians have, which is of course, popular with those of us that have to work for a living, is to force companies to pay their employees more. Developed nations are fighting a worldwide epidemic against obesity. As the Economist(April,2006 edition) notes, about 50% of kids in England could be obese by 2020. The percentage of Americans with BMI over 25 grew to 62 around 2003 and has reached a plateau since.

When such numbers hit a 'tipping point' they drive a mass consumer shift towards health diets. People become inundated with reports that highlight the dangers of being overweight and as a result health diets, fitness centers, and weight loss scams start having a field day. Advertisers that specialize in demonizing the McDonalds of the world sprout out of nowhere with strident rhetoric against unhealthy eating.

Some of us might think that raising the minimum wage is going to leave us more money to spend at the end of the week or month. Some of us can think again. Economics 101: The number one rule is businesses do not take a hit sitting down....they pass on the costs.....to the consumer.

At $5.25 an hour, Joe was making $210.00 a week. At $6.50, he is making $260.00 a week. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there is an extra $50.00. But, guess what? After Joe pays his bills, buys his groceries, puts gas in the car, and pays the orthodontist for little Joey's teeth....all at the new, inflated prices.....he doesn't even have enough left over to take his wife out to celebrate the new raise. In fact, if he isn't careful, he will be in the hole.
