I am sure that other mothers out there have eaten things off their kid's plates from time to time. When my kids were toddlers, it seemed that was the only way I could catch a meal--by eating whatever was left on their plates.

How to Lose Fat By Accident (Part 4)...

bread
Carbs, carbs everywhere... but not a morsel to eat.

As I mentioned in the last post, the book proposed a controlled intake of carb (carbohydrate) and sugar. For those who are tuning in the first time, I was in a quest to disprove a weight-loss system. However, finding food conveniently with the required carb and sugar content is like finding half a needle in a hay mount. And so, I decided to adapt a little. I rationalized that even if I did not follow the system to the letter, I should still see SOME results IF the system worked at all. Even if I gained back some weight I was willing to admit that I did not manage to disprove the system adequately.

Update on the food experimentations

bills | eating | farmer's market | Food | groceries

As I posted a couple of entries ago, I've been buying most of my food at a farmer's market. It's so cool because I can take a $20 bill in there, and I walk out with enough veggies to fill my refrigerator. For example, last week, we saw a man who had garlic for sale. For one small bulb, they want 50 cents at the cheapest grocery store around. Here, he had some enormous bulbs that were $3 per handful. We got three enormous bulbs of garlic, plus, he threw in some small ones, and a few cloves of elephant garlic. We've literally got enough to last us for a long time.

Diet Pills: Tremendous Temptation, Huge Frauds

diet | eating | Food | Health | kemo | life | men | people | weight loss | Wellness | Women

By: Alfred Gomez

Avoid a diet that requires you to abruptly change your eating habits, forcing you to stop eating your favourite foods for example. Changes like that will cause temptation and make you cheta on your diet. A diet like this will rarely last long enough to have any meaningful effect on your health or weight.

The secret to losing weight is to eat and drink the right kind of foods until you are satisfied. Skipping of meals is not the answer for weight loss, it can rather deteriorate your health. A healthy weight loss diet plan should include vegetables, fruits, grains, lentils and beans in your diet.

People who eat a lot of onions, garlic and other alliums have a much lower risk of several types of cancer than those who avoid the pungent herbs, new research shows.

My rundown of some popular fast food restaurants

My review of fast food restaurants

As I was driving along today, I started seeing various restaurants I have ate at in the past. And I started thinking of the foods I liked.

Wendy's - Wendy's have got some of the freshest burgers I have ever tasted. Their lettuce, tomato, and onions are so fresh. And the actual beef taste fresh too. I don't like their fries very much, but the chicken nuggets are fresh.

Schizo Pregnancy.

cravings | eating | pregnancy

Man, this pregnancy has me Jekyll & Hyde-ing on a daily basis, and I don't mean just when it comes to moodiness (which is a major problem....but why bore you with details....) but also when it comes to body temperature, eating habits, the whole nine yards. Being pregnant with my son was 100% different, I was tired, yes, but pretty normal the rest of the time. Now, normalcy isn't really a part of my vocabulary anymore.

Lettuce in a bag

dinner | eating | family | Food | fruits | Grocery | healthy recipes | restaurants

Today, I went to WalMart grocery shopping, and I really wanted to purchase some shredded lettuce in a bag. But I didn't. There has been so much controversy over people getting sick, that I'm scared to do it.

It's so much more convienant when you can get lettuce already cut up and washed. But how as consumers can we know for sure that it's safe?

In september when they did the recall for the spinach, tha t was really scary. I was so glad that my children and I hadn't purchased any.

Ugh.

cravings | eating | pregnancy

Yes, I am pregnant, but it is no excuse for the fact that today I just ate two and half glazed donuts, three slices of pepperoni pizza a Kit Kat bar and some of my son's alphabet cookies. Have mercy. I can barely breathe right now. I normally TRY to eat healthily, so I have no idea what the hell happened to me today that made me eat like a frat boy on apetite enhancers. Kinda gross really.....I can just imagine my arteries doing a dance of joy as I type this.

Simple Pleasures

apetite | eating | parenting | simple pleasures | toddlers

The things that make me happy nowadays are so random and so simple. Tonight my son ate a tremendous serving of brocolli alfredo pasta and a tall glass of milk for dinner. He has been shunning milk for almost two weeks now, so this came as a surprise. And even though he is a fairly good eater, albeit toddler-picky at times, he usually doesn't et as much as I'd like him to......but tonight was awesome.

How not to make it on a College budget

bills | budget | clothing | college | dating | eating | entertainment

I will present to you some tried and true research that myself and my friends have done over the past few years. We are going to look at "How not to make it on a college budget" or "What not to do when you are a broke college student".

First, I'd like to say for everyone who thought that once they get the degree it will be cha ching, how wrong you are unless you specialize in medicine, law, engineering, etc. Also, a degree in Religion is not going to open the doors and having employers begging you to work for them. I can't even get a job for a church.
