Truth behind the drug free work place
Submitted by Kemo on September 26, 2006 - 8:50pm. blog | drug testing | employers | kemo | workDrug free work place sounds like a good idea. No one wants to work with someone high on drugs? However the real reason is more complicated. Most workplaces are becoming drug free because they can use drug use as a reason not to play out medical benefits. For example if you fell off a ladder and broke your leg the first thing they would have you do is take a drug test to see if drugs are in your system. If they are your medical coverage is void. If employers want to bring down disability clams they need to start providing safer working environments. It’s time for employers to stop violating workers rights to privacy outside of work.
Drug testing your kids- an invasion of their privacy?
Submitted by IntricateGirl on July 5, 2006 - 8:04am. drug testing | Kids | privacy | teensI stumbled onto a site today that offers drug testing kits for parents to use on their kids. You can find the site at http://drugtestingkits.testcountry.com
I can understand the need for this, sadly. But is it a good idea? Drug testing doesn't make up for being a good parent in the first place, and they are less likely to use drugs if they know you are paying attention. But this feels like an invasion of their privacy. Still, if I suspected my kids were using drugs, I might want something like this so that I could see if my suspicions were true.
