Domestic violence or intimate partner violence is not just a family problem—it is a society problem. This is a pattern of assault and coercive behaviors which include physical, sexual, and psychological attacks, as well as economic coercion used by adults or adolescents against their current or former intimate partners.

In case people have forgotten, there is alot of Domestic disputes going on in the world.
Recently, I watched an episode of The Dr Phil Show. The topic was called: TEENAGE DATING AND ABUSE to be honest it scared the shit out of me, of what these young women do to stay with their partners that's belting the shit out of them.
Would you ever let your daughter go out with a man that belts the crap out of her? Or would you sit back and let her make her own mistake.
CA125 update
Submitted by jwensink on December 9, 2006 - 5:43am. domestic violence | victimsOn Monday I had my usual check-up with the Dr. Everything is going well and I have no serious complications with the chemo. But the best news was my CA125 number. The CA125 measures how much protein the tumors for ovarian cancer make. Normal is below 20. My number is now at 7!!! Before surgery it was 44, then at the first chemo it was 24 and now 7. So, that is terrific news that the numbers are going down. It indicates that the chemo is working and the cancer that is left is responding to the chemo. My cancer isn't very good at making protein, so we know not to rely heavily on the numbers, but we are looking for good signs that the treatment is effective.
Their Secret Shame
Submitted by theresabluej on November 3, 2006 - 7:19pm. abuse | domestic violence | man | menI know that other people must be aware of this problem, but like most, I didn't really pay attention until it hit close to home.
I have a male friend who is trying to escape a physically abusive wife. Now there's a scenerio you're not confronted with every day. Typically, we have the reverse thrust into faces almost constantly by the media.
I have been placing calls and searching the net only to discover that there isn't much in the way of support for the guys out there. I was on the verge of starting a local chapter of an online abuse network, but I sadly lack even the $15 dollars needed to become a local chapter. Not to mention lacking three people to help form a board. Being a single mom definitely has plenty of downsides.
Abuse of Women
Submitted by Tottie on April 8, 2006 - 11:28pm. abuse | domestic violence | victims | WomenWhy does domestic violence seem to be on the increase? Why is it that men think they have the right to humiliate women, and hit, punch or other wise cause them pain?
One would think that we have progressed a lot since the caveman days, but it still seems that some men seem to think that their role is to demand their wife or partner to obey.
It is extra ordinary that this behaviour continues - and it is amazing that stories of most inhumane behaviour persist in our communities.
