[b]August 2008, the large Hydron collider(LHC) is switched on. An $8 billion experiment that has been anticipated for 14 years has finally reached its end. Could it be the begining for a new era in human evolution? Or is it a new threat that will ultimately lead to our destruction? I have taken it upon myself to further my education on this subject, sadly, the scientific jargon is extremly overwhelming. To those of us that are not all clued up on science or physics, this is for you. I have simplified it as much as possible as not to confuse this very complex invention. There are many more stories to follow this introduction. There have been many controversial topics over the years concerning the LHC, the majority of which I will share with you.

Horror of Horrors: My Work-At-Home Nightmare!
Submitted by cgwriter on June 24, 2006 - 6:45pm. Bad | disaster | WAHM | work at homeOh NO!! I still can't believe it. I've done something horrible and now I'm in a major quandry.
I'm not the most organized person in the first place, but I've always been extremely careful with my clients' materials and never had a problem before.
However, now that all five kids are out of school, there's a lot more chaos and chances for error. Especially with my stepdaughter, who likes to help "clean" by stashing anything ANYWHERE, and I do mean anywhere. There is no telling where things might end up when she cleans (for example, I once found a tomato in the tupperware cabinet, my bible in a laundry basket underneath folded clothes, and recently I discovered a watermelon rotting in the spare bedroom, ugh!). I might mentioned that at 16 years old, she is way too old to be doing this, but then again, who listens to their mom at 16?
10 Things You Should Know Before A Disaster Strikes
Submitted by ms zola on March 13, 2006 - 6:05pm. bottled water | candles | disaster | earthquake | hurricane | propane | toronadoThere are a few things you can do to prepare yourself for a disaster.
1. Keep bottled water on hand...ALL THE TIME...by the time the storm/earthquake hits it is too late. By the time people know it is coming it is too late....the stores are empty.
2. Keep can goods on hand that don't need preparation....you won't have a stove or a microwave....because there is NO ELECTRICITY!
3. Have a portable can opener.....the electric kind won't work...
