I sometimes wish things were like the old times when people took care of business when someone hurt their family. They would go out and "handle" things themselves instead of waiting on police to do something.

The End Will Always Justifies The Means
Submitted by Pancho Villa on June 1, 2008 - 9:11am. crime | justice | police | police brutilityDoes the end always justify the means? Is it ok for a police officer to lie and get a known criminal off the street? Is it ok for a police officer to lie about your speeding ticket just to meet his quota for the month?
Seven Years For Enslavement
Submitted by Catfish on May 20, 2008 - 4:41pm. crime | kidnapping | slaveryThis one isn't as bad as the guy in Austria, but it's still troubling.
A women was sentenced to 7 years in jail because she forced a Haitian girl to work as a slave for years in her South Florida home. The girl had to work 7 days a week, 15 hours a day at a minimum, taking care of the woman, her elderly mother, and her husband, who got 18 months of probation because he left his wife back in 2001, but still knew about the girl's enslavement and didn't do anything about it.
Is There Any Such Thing As Too Young Anymore?
Submitted by Catfish on April 1, 2008 - 5:45pm. bad kids | crimeThere are two news stories this week that really have to make us start wondering whether there is any truth to the statement that some kids are too young to know what they're doing.
The first is the story from Brazil (for once, something bad NOT happening in the U.S.) about the 16 year old who's been arrested as the youngest serial killer in history. He's supposedly owned up to killing 12 people in just one year, though the police can ONLY tie him to 6 with certainty. And the reason he did it; just because he liked killing people. That's it; no anger, nothing sexual, he just liked it. Sigh.

His initial story to police was that he propped the bottle in the baby's mouth and went outside. When he returned, he found the baby not breathing.

Dog Was Right About Dopefiend Son's "Girlfriend"
Submitted by manodogs on November 7, 2007 - 7:29pm. america | bounty hunter | crime | dog | double-standard | duane chapman | Legal | manodogs | Racism | TVDuane "Dog" Chapman was on CNN's Larry King Live tonight to discuss his recent flap with the press regarding his drug-addicted, ex-convict son's illegal taping of a private conversation in which Dog repeatedly used a racial slur. The A&E Channel's top-rated TV star of the show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, was sincere and repentant for his use of a word which is in common usage throughout America, specifically by the very people who pretend to be so offended by it. But I've already covered the reverse-racism inherent in the word in my earlier post.
You should have seen this friggin' "girlfriend"...
Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman and The D-Word
Submitted by manodogs on November 3, 2007 - 6:09pm. america | bounty hunter | crime | dog | double-standards | Legal | manodogs | Racism | TVWell, I guess you've heard about Duane "Dog" Chapman's latest scrape and oddly enough, this one is more threatening than the possibility of his going to Mexican prison (he isn't, by the way - they dropped the charges): this one could literally end his career, not just interrupt it! But interrupt it, it already has.

Pierce Brosnan was accused of battery by a paparazzi. Supposedly the incident occurred just outside of Casa Escobar in Malibu last week. The photographer, Robert Rosen, said that he was taking pictures while Brosnan was with his kids. Rosen began to compliment Brosnan on his roles as James Bond and then according to Rosen, Brosnan replied, "Why don’t you get a real f**king job," and then a short time later Brosnan said, "Why don’t you f**k off, mate," and then hit the photographer in the ribs.

This Was The Best He Could Come Up With?
Submitted by Catfish on October 5, 2007 - 6:40pm. crime | idiocy | self mutilationOkay, this has to be one of the sickest things I've ever read, mainly because this guy's not considered insane.
A man in Mobile Alabama had claimed that his friend, a neighbor, had been murdered, and his tongue cut out, by robbers. Instead, after an investigation, the police have arrested this moron and charged him with stealing around $200,000 from his employer and now believe he cut his own tongue out to try to deflect attention from himself. Oh yeah, they're also tossing on a charge of filing a false police report.
More In Prison Than In Dorms
Submitted by Catfish on September 27, 2007 - 5:16am. america | crime | diversity | education | Racism | schoolsSo, lately there's been a few people on this blog who are saying that I'm wrong, that there is no problem with race in America. To that, I offer this.
A CNN story today states that there are more blacks in prison than there are in college dorms. As a matter of fact, for more accuracy, three times more are in prison than in college dorms. The study makes sure to mention that it doesn't count those who might be living off campus, and that men make up most of this figure (around 90%).
