Now, just like every other red blooded American, to me filling up at the pump is about as fun as paying taxes or going to the dentist. In my frustration, it would be easy for me to read newspaper headlines such as the title of this blog and blame evil corprate America. But because I am pro-capitalism and believe in questioning what is presented to me by the media, I needed a better explaination. What I found after much research is actually quite contrary to what 99% of Americans believe: corporations don't make as much profits as we might think.

NASCAR and DEI
Submitted by One Voice on February 19, 2007 - 7:29am. corporations | death | empire | family | firefox | Introduce | loss | NASCAR | vinegarDale Jr is really getting me concerned regarding his recent venture. I can not for the life of me understand his motive. I know that he wants to continue in the work his father started, however being a owner/driver is to much for one person to do. I have to wonder if he is determined by greed, prestigue, or fame. Which all comes from his fathers ideas. I can see how Jr would want to have control of DEI and why, but I dont see him being successful at it both at the same time. I remember the day his father laost his life. He was doing so for his Corporation, and to let one of his cars win the Daytona 500. It cost him his life. Keeping everyone away from Jr and Michael Waltrip was not only a good driver, but also he was thinking of DEI the corporation. He lost his life for the cause. I know that Jr is still wanting to be a driver, it's in his blood. I just wish he would do one or the other. It is too hard to be both at the same time. Get the driving out of his system and then own and operate DEI. I think if he decided to stop driving it would be a big fan let down. He is America's driver, and that is saying a lot for him and Dale Sr. I can even understand his desire to be more then just a driver. But he already is so much more then just a driver to America, is that not enough for him? To take DEI to the next level will require a lot more hard work, harder even then being a driver and so much more worries.. I just think he is a valuable driver for DEI and when he is ready to stop driving then he can give 100% to bing owner\operator and CEO of DEI. I think by that time Theresa will see the good for DEI and for Dale Sr. and also Dale Jr. So at this point all I can do is pray to God for Dale Jr. to know that he has time to do all he wants and more, its is just timing, everything is timing...
National debt
Submitted by lloyd on June 5, 2006 - 5:24am. corporations | corruption | greed | politicsWhat will our grandkids have to pay for interest on the national debt? Today we pay over $160 Billion a year. We’re paying it to foreign governments, wealthy foreigners, and the richest of Americans in their diversified portfolios. As we go from under $6 Trillion in debt to $8 Trillion and more, as the empire spreads its wings over all the globe, paying $250-300 Billion a year is not beyond our reach. Our country could go from spending 7% on debt to 10% even 15%. These kinds of expenditures will cripple if not destroy the future of all Americans, except for the top 3% whose future is rosy no matter what happens.
Third Party
Submitted by lloyd on June 4, 2006 - 5:16am. corporations | corruption | greed | politicsThird Party
It’s been tried before. Actually there are hundreds of parties that are neither Democrat nor Republican. What people are referring to is a party that miraculously gains enough votes to win the Electoral College in 2008. But, unless this mysterious phenomenon can also win a majority in the House and Senate, about all the new president will be able to do is shut down the government by refusing to sign various appropriation bills. The most a third party has been able to do in history is to put pressure on the most similar-minded party. Since both parties compete to assure corporate America that they’ll give more of the store away than the other, a third party shouldn’t have much effect.
