Last week, we heard that the CIA has been burning tapes of the things they do, including interrogations and the like. Congress went into uproar mode, the media went crazy, and that man who's our president asked Congress to back off. Earlier today, that same man decided he didn't want to talk about the "scandal".

A CIA agent has now confirmed that the United States used torture to extract information from al-Qaida detainees. At the same time he was careful to remind the congressional oversight committee that the United States does not torture. The United States uses an “enhanced interrogation technique”. By this reasoning people that holdup stores do not rob stores, they are in effect using an “unauthorized acquisition technique”. And people that murder someone do not really murder anyone, they are in effect assisting in an “early demise technique”. Our prisons are not full of prisoners, they are full of‘detainees”.

Word came out today that the Iranian parliament has declared that both the CIA and the United States Army are terrorists. Mostly, it's been answered by a yawn.

In their words, based on the U.N. Charter, they train terrorists and are openly aggressive, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan. In response, National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said he declined to comment "on non-binding resolutions passed by parliaments in countries with dubious records on human rights, democracy and that are state sponsors of terror."

Brainwashing/Mind control is the successful control of the thoughts and actions of another without his or her consent. Generally, the term implies that the victim has given up some basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes, and has been made to accept contrasting ideas. 'Brainwashing' is often used loosely to refer to being persuaded by propaganda.
