You walked lightly into my life
Captivating and lovely to my mind,
At first, I never cared who you were
Now I don’t know who I am without you,
You kissed me
I felt my world change,
You held me
I heard my heart awaken,
You loved me
And my soul was born anew
You walked lightly into my life
Now my heart knows who you are
And with every breath
And every step
I take down lonely roads,
Your hand is my staff

Romans 1:14-15
Paul was not a professional preacher. His commitment to the gospel was far more profound.
Earlier in the chapter he has described his preaching work as "serving" God; he has been "called" to be an apostle; he is aware of having been "set apart" for the gospel. It is possible, however, that some readers (then and now) could misinterpret this language and conclude that Paul's service was essentially external - that he did the work but had no personal heart investment in the activity.
