Happy Indepandance Day to all my current and future Traverus Travel associates.

california | Chicago | D.C. | florida traverus | New York | Puerto Rico | texas | Traverus Canada | traverus florida

spent a great 4th of july with my 89y.o grandmother and family. They currently live in Jacksonville,Florida. It was a long ride up here from Tampa Bay but deffinately worth it. The weather up here in jacksonville is hot and muggy. The air is so thick you can cut it with a nife. During this Independance weekend I was thinking of all our soldiers over seas. The true heroes of today!..God bless those troops!. Well, I was thinking about the state of economy today. How when those men and women soldiers and sailors come back from war will they have jobs waiting for them? Now, I live in a time that with the world trade agreement is sending our jobs over seas. Will there be jobs for these brave men and women?...It scares me to think what will happen when they have sacrificed their lives for America and america lets them down. I am a veteran and it makes me wonder these things.

Superbowl and the Sensational ness

bears | Chicago | consolidate | Dreams | I.T | Indiana | money

BIG DAY today!!!

The 41st Superbowl in Miami Florida....

Have you ever wondered about the amount of money spent on this day?? I have no statistic to look at and compare, but I would think it is a whole lot more then at Christmas time. Does the money all go to the men of the NFL? Meaning owners and players and just all of them?
I know that a lot of the players themselves have their Charities of choice and do in fact donate a lot of time and money. But I can't help but think of how many people are without the basic necessities. Just of recent, the tornado that ripped threw the center of Florida.. People homeless, no clothes, and no family for those who lost them. I know that the government is the responsibility party for this specifically FEMA, which is headquartered just 15 miles north of me as I sit. The people that have just showed up, no place to park, no food to eat, using their time and energy to lend a helping hand. Of all days, Superbowl Sunday!!! That people, to me is worth so much, it is almost uncomprehindable. Unimaginable, un heard of!!!!

Chicago Yelp Website Has Major Donnybrook Concerning 9/11 Theory

9/11 | Can't Wear Baggy Pants Forever | Chicago | Dick Cheney | Future Is Made Now | George W. Bush | Iraq | Tell a Great Story

Major confrontation broke out today when a writer at the Yelp Chicago reviews site started a forum insinuating elements of our own government might have been behind the hijacked planes and subsequent attacks on 9/11/2001. The usual staunchly Republican and conservative elements of the site immediately and idiotically pooh-poohed this suggestion reflexively without supporting their positions at all, and became extremely defensive when the original poster began to intelligently rebuff their incredibly weak arguments.

Gentrification Gradually Sucks The Life Out Of Chicago

blogit | Chicago | condos | reddit | saint | sainthood | Starbucks | Target | training.egoodmanners

Gentrification and the associated homogenization are gradually sucking the life out of the once vibrant and diverse city of Chicago. Too many yuppies have relocated from the suburbs and instituted their shallow and materliasm-Obsessed lifestyle on the rest of the population. There are way too many Gap stores, etc. and parts of the city that were once alternative and quirky are becoming yuppiefied and suburbanized.

When I was a little girl, my rich aunt and uncle adopted at teenager called Tootsie.

Tootsie, who was several years older than me, decided to become a model, and after graduation, she left home and went to a modeling school in Chicago. I never saw Tootsie again.

Wal-mart wins workers lose again

blog | Chicago | kemo | low wageworkers | Richard M. Daley

In Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley vetoed “The living wage bill that would have required big chain retailers such as Wal-Mart to pay their workers at least 10 dollars and hour and 3$ in fringe benefits by the middle of 2010. This bill would only apply to retailers that make more than a billion dollars a year in sales. Employers who obvious can afford to pay their workers better then they do.

Few American acts had more success and were a more ubiquitous presence on radio during the '70s than the band Chicago. From their beginnings in the late '60s as an ambitious horn-driven group fusing progressive rock, pop, and jazz, Chicago became a more streamlined, focused pop entity during the decade with ten Top Ten albums, including six #1s, and a string of smash singles like "Colour My World," Saturday In The Park," and "If You Leave Me Now."

Real Estate in the Windy City

Aurora | Chicago | Plainfield

On the Plainfield Real Estate web site there is the following statement; " This area is indexed at 60.0 regarding potential crime to your property." What does that mean? I assume it is a good thing but you would think that they would put some sort of explanation on the site. Or may this is a common indicator in Chicago. I don't know.

Now the web release by Plainfield Real Estate about the community of Aurora does contain some interesting information. Things like they have a zoo with free admission. Free is good. That Aurora was the first city in US to use electric street lights. It also contains more boring information that is important when buying house. Things like that they are golf courses, schools, colleges, recreational facilities and more.

What would I do if I could travel......

It is always great to own and even though prices for singles family homes in metropolitan homes cooled in the first quarter, many metro regions are still showing double digit annual gains. Exterior makeovers are getting more important as many areas linger on the market and price growth stalls. Since outsourcing had eliminated more than three million jobs, mortgage rates are more dependent on foriegners buying the US debt.
