Nobody Else is Gonna Care About Your Car...

In the past month I have talked to more than a handful of people who have had incidents with ther cars being damaged or broken into. I wrote about one of these incidents not too long ago when my husband's new car got a dent in the trunk when a kid ran his bike into it. Last night one of my friends was telling me that a man backed up into the front of her BMW cracking her front bumper and then just took off. My neighbor's had their car stolen and taken for a joy ride, only to be found three miles away with all of the hubcaps removed. It's sad, but nobody is going to care about our cars or the damages that they may incur on them except for us.....and we, of course, are the ones stuck paying the insurance deductibles and hiked up premiums.

Car insurance- get the best of free quotes.

Before looking into the options available for car insurance,
let us go through the following suggesstions given by Nancy Pierce, regional vice president of GEICO,(Government Employees Insurance Companies) San Diego, location, advises all of us to take these precautionary steps to avoid car theft.

1) Never leave your keys in the car.

2) Leave your car in park or in gear with the wheels turned toward the curb or some other obstruction, so thieves won't be able to tow it easily.

Please Steal My Car!

I just got a web release in which GEICO states that California has six of the top ten auto theft locations in the United States. I don't live in California, but if I did, I feel relatively certain that no car I've ever owned would have been stolen (see my entry titled "I Loved My Truck"). In fact, I probably should drive to California and park my current vehicle in shady places in hopes that it WILL be stolen so that I can get something else.
