I thought it was the cool bohemian thing to do. I was hanging out with a community of artist participating in shows and craft fairs and although it didn't generate much money I enjoyed it. Four years ago things changed and I found it difficult to get commissioned work. I had not saved any money I was living paycheck to paycheck with a low paying job. I was a full time student with a large amount of money owed to Sallie Mae. I had nothing to show for myself.
