I kid you not. A month ago, I was in danger of checking myself into the local hospital's mental ward. Our neighbor's dogs had barked almost non-stop for 2 days.

This particular neighbor, when asked to quit throwing beer cans across the fence into another neighbor's yard, responded by draping a huge banner with the 4-letter f-word across the fence so that this elderly lady would see it every time she entered her back yard.

I am really starting hate dogs...or maybe it's their owners I detest. Don't get me wrong, I love animals, always have. I even so much as gave up meat and all animal by-products for a good part of my High School years.....but lately, the dogs on my block are getting out of hand.

And I am not talking about a poop problem here. The only time I've had to deal with that was when a totally trashed out couple was walking their enormous pit bull down the street last summer as my husband and I were working on the garden and they let their massive hound leave a steaming pile on our driveway...yes, it's true. The girl just giggled and said "oops!" then they walked away and we were left completely dumbfounded. I am not sure why we didn't call them back over to scoop up their canine's poop....we were either too flabbergasted or too worried that if we pissed them off they might key one of our cars, pop a tire, or find some other trashed out way to retaliate.
