Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is one of the leading causes of death for children under the age of one. British researchers have found that bacteria may play a big part in SIDS. They found possibly dangerous bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli, in almost half of all babies who died of SIDS.

It’s my thought, and one shared by not a few other scientists, that many of the customs that we now defend or assault on moral, ethical, or legal grounds originally arose as pragmatic human responses to health or disease issues.
For the Love of God, Keep Your Sick Kid at Home!
Submitted by ModelMom on May 7, 2006 - 12:17pm. bacteria | children | hygiene | parenting | restaurants | toddlersI just cannot wrap by brain around why and/or how some parents think it's okay to take their sick kids out and risk infecting any number of other children that they may come into contact with. Is it really THAT important for the parents to dine out, have coffee, etc.?
I understand if your child is ill and you need to run to the store or pharmacy to pick up some Pedialyte or Tylenol. I know that sometimes you just don't have anyone to stay at home while you run out to grab something that is pretty pertinent to the situation at hand.....but a sick kid in a restaurant? Come on.
