Submitted by angelface79 on October 16, 2006 - 5:58am. allergies | asthma | breathing | lungsAsthma is a condition that has played a big part of our lives. I've had asthma since I was a child. Back then, they really didn't know to much about it. I spent alot of time in and out of the hospitals. I could get a sore throat and end up with asthmatic bronchitis or pneumonia.
When I had children, I really hoped and prayed that they wouldn't get it. But they both have it.

Why Bother Reducing Dust?
Submitted by Dark Amber on August 28, 2006 - 6:28pm. allergens | allergies | asthma | dustA bothersome or severe allergy to dust might seem fairly hopeless. After all, dust mites are invisible and everywhere, and you can’t avoid them completely. Luckily, there is a lot that can be done to seriously reduce the amount of dust around you - and that is worth doing! Allergists now say that we don’t show symptoms right away, but rather, the allergens accumulate over time, weakening or overwhelming the immune system. If there are too many allergens put into your system at once, or a steady amount all of the time, you’ll begin to feel miserable pretty quickly. That means that even if you can only reduce allergens in your bedroom or home, that still gives your immune system many hours out of the day during which it can recuperate. Fortunately, dust is one allergen that can be reduced significantly!

Want to write?
Submitted by Dark Amber on August 24, 2006 - 8:47pm. asthma | freelance writing | portfolio | volunteer | work experience | write articles | writer | writingI know how hard it can be to get that portfolio looking polished. Right now, I'm working hard on mine, and trying to break into the world of freelance writing and editing. You can usually work online, and it pays quite well actually. The best part is, every project you complete not only pays well, but also gives you that much more for your portfolio!
I'm pretty excited. My boyfriend and I are currently building a house, and it's going to be out in the country, which limits my opportunities to work. This is right up my alley!
