And above all, be subtle in your recommendation. You only need a sentence or two. Don’t over do it, otherwise your article winds up looking like an advertisement. People don’t like to be sold.

Why Some Affiliates Never Make Money

Everyday, people complain that they are not making money. I usually ask what kind of products and techniques they are using in their Internet business. Many times, they will say they are trying to sell affiliate products using article marketing.

At first I was puzzled by these answers because I use article marketing to sell affiliate products as well as my own products and I consistently make money. Although I make much more money from my own ebooks, I still make a fair amount from affiliate products. So why are some people very successful while others make no money at all?

I believe it is a matter of determination. First of all, in order to make anything using article marketing, you have to submit articles on a regular basis. You will achieve some success if you submit 1 article a day. However, you will be much more successful if you submit 3 articles a day. As with any business, the more you work, the more you will make. Affiliate marketing is no different.

Many of the people who are not making money are submitting just 1 or 2 articles a week to 2 or three directories. Number 1, this is not enough articles. You have to write more often than that if you want to be successful. Number 2, you should submit each article to more directories. At the very least, you should submit each of your articles to 10 (or more) of the largest directories.

Another reason why many people fail is impatience. In most cases, if you submit articles every day, you will probably make your first sale in about a month. If you are writing just 2 articles per week, it will take you about 4 months to make that first sale. Most of these people get discouraged long before that and give up on the product. Many of them will then try something new and the time frame starts all over. As a result, they never commit enough time and effort on one thing long enough to make money.

So, if you are not making money, choose a quality product and work hard on it. If you are using articles to promote it, write at least 1 article each day. If you have a good product and work hard, you will make money.
