I like to sell products that have a high ‘Gravity.’ This indicates that there are many affiliates actively selling the product. The Pre-Sell Page That Generates Explosive Affiliate Sales

Many super affiliates say that you should use a pre-sell page in your affiliate marketing efforts. But what type of pre-sell page is best. Many new affiliate marketers try to use a pre sell pager that is almost a copy of the merchant’s sales page. They provide a list of features a mile long. This usually results in very minimal conversions. Benefits sell products, not features.

Other affiliate marketers use a hard sell approach. This is also a recipe for disaster. In order to be successful, your buyer has to convert on this page AND click the buy button on your merchant’s page. Using this technique, you have given your prospect twice as many chances to refuse your product. In addition, most consumers are turned off by the hard sell. Using hard sell techniques creates more resistance in the minds of most prospects.

The best pre-sell page is not a sales page at all. I have found that the most effective pre-sell page is a simple article placed on my site. This technique works very well if you have a lot of content on your site. The article should be related to a problem that your affiliate product solves. The article should be easy to find and have a title that clearly defines the problem and state that this article contains the solution. Your article should state the many troubles associated with this problem and the difficulties that it can cause. In the final paragraph of your article, mention that you had this problem and solved it by using xyz product. Make sure you insert a text link directing the reader to xyz product. And above all, be subtle in your recommendation. You only need a sentence or two. Don’t over do it, otherwise your article winds up looking like an advertisement. People don’t like to be sold.

Just because the general consensus of opinion says that affiliate programs are the easiest way to start an Internet business, doesn’t mean that it is easy. It just means that it is easier than developing your own product, taking care of the sale, processing the payment, dealing with the customer, and delivering the product. On top of all that, you still have to generate traffic.

So don’t fall for the hype. Developing a successful online business requires work. And if you don’t have the time or ambition to do what is necessary, you won’t be successful. You will just wind up as another participant in the 90% of business owners that fail in their first year.

All to often I hear people complaining that they cannot make money online. One of the biggest reasons that they are not making money is the fact that they jump around from one program to the next. They never spend enough time (or marketing energy) with one program long enough to be successful.

In addition to being patient, you should keep detailed records. I think a good record keeping system is vitally important to your online success. I once sent over three hundred visitors to the sales page of an affiliate product. I knew from past history that this program usually converted about 1% of all visitors into buyers. Armed with this knowledge, I stayed with the product. Over the next week, I made 4 sales. Each sale earned me over 40 dollars. My patience put one hundred twenty bucks in my pocket in a week. If I had been impatient, I would never have made that money.

On average, most Internet products convert about 1% of all visitors into buyers. Keep track of how many people you send to each of your affiliate merchants. If you’ve only sent 50 people to a site over a two month period, be patient and stay with the program. Step up your marketing efforts to send more people there. If you don’t generate any sales after 300 or 350 visits, then you should consider making a change.

Don’t be impatient and jump from program to program impulsively. Keep good records and be patient. Patience is one of the virtues that can make you big money!

2. Keep your articles short. Your readers did not come to the Internet to read a novel. The ideal article should be between 300 and 500 words.

3. ALWAYS include an author’s resource box that contains two or three links to your website or products that you are recommending. This, after all, is the reason you write articles.

4. Put some thought into each of your links. Design each one to look like a small classified ad that entices your readers to click. Use anchor links if the directory permits it, otherwise, use the full web address (including http://).

5. Submit your articles to the 25 to 50 largest article directories. This will ensure that your articles will get good exposure and will remain live or a long time.

Many millionaires have been made through the use of affiliate products. And millions of dollars worth of affiliate products are bought and sold every day on the Internet. Are you getting your share of affiliate profits? The affiliate products that you decide to promote can have a major impact on whether or not you make money.

Before recommending an affiliate program, you should research it thoroughly. Ideally, you should test out the product yourself. However, sometimes this is difficult, especially if you are just starting out and have not yet made any money.
