We've been thinking about getting a swimming pool. Ever since I wrote about an Orlando pool home, the idea of having a pool home of my own has started to appeal. It's not that I don't like the beach. It's just the convenience of being able to go downstairs and take a quick dip, without having all the sand to contend with.

By now everyone has heard of the tv show Lost. When the show first started, I could tell people "The show is about some plane crash survivors who crashed on a deserted island." Eventually that statement evolved into, "It's about some plane crash survivors who crashed on a mysterious island." Now, I can't say with any certainty that they were survivors, or that the plane crashed as opposed to being shot down, or even that they are on an island! All I know is that it started with a plane that fell out of the sky for one reason or another, that some people seem to have survived it, and they landed on a big piece of land next to a big body of water.

David Blaine: A Magic Man or an Overpaid Stuntman?

Do you consider David Blaine a true magician? I have not made up my mind as to whether David Blaine is a true magician or not.

When I think of great magicians I think of Harry Houdini and David Copperfield. However, regarding David Blaine I haven't made up my mind yet. The reason is he does do some extraordinary stunts at times, but is that really magic? For instance the guys from MTV: such as Jackass and Viva La Bam, they do crazy stunts but we do not refer to them as magicians.
