Health | Meditation | Meditation music | Meditations | self help | self-help | self-improvement

The role of meditation in essence is to assist you in maintaining your mind and body. The power of our mind is often overlooked in Western Society where as in other parts of the world like Asia, they recognize the power of the mind to assist in healing your body. This meditation is one that you can use to simply help heal you body. I should note that it is not a substitute for other medical assistance, but should be used in conjunction with traditional medicine.

Are You Ready to Be Surprised?

diet | game reviews | Happiness | Health | money | relationships | self-improvement

"One can resist the invasion of an army but one cannot resist the invasion of ideas."
-- Victor Hugo

Are you ready to be surprised? Life is full of surprises - to those who are aware.

History records amazing coincidences in the lives of two of America's founders - Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. You are aware that Jefferson labored for two weeks writing the Declaration of Independence. He showed his drafts to Adams and Benjamin Franklin, who edited it, honed Jefferson's ideas and refined the document. When it was finally finished, he brought it before the Continental Congress for approval.

The Secret of Achieving Success Fast

Business | self-improvement | SUCCESS

Do you want to succeed fast in business, career, studies etc.? In order to succeed fast you need to fail as fast as possible.

You should be willing to try out new things, be willing to stub your feet and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you are afraid of failing, you will not try new things.

So the simple thing to remember if you want to achieve success fast is to fail fast. I am not saying to fail deliberately (infact you have to try and minimize risk as much as possible), but at the same time you have to be mentally prepared for failure. Any worthwile success takes time and effort. You are likely to make a lot of mistakes along the way and have to learn from the mistakes. If you shy away from mistakes and failures, then you are likely to get frustrated and easily give up on your goals.

Method for administering subliminal messages...

diet | Health | quit smoking | self-improvement | sex | singer/songwriter

Bradley Thompson http://www.selfhelpstreet.com

We already looked at what subliminal messaging is, and why it is such a powerful technique for self-development. I also revealed that, contrary to what you may have thought, the basic technique has been known about for some time, though for their own reasons governments have often sought to suppress it.

I also spotlighted our amazing Subliminal Power software ( www.subliminal-power.com). This lets you choose from hundreds of different scripts, and displays them subliminally on your PC screen. Alternatively you can create your own scripts and have them displayed instead.

How to Increase Brain Power

Body | Health | mind | self-improvement

Most of us know that physical exercise is good for our general health, but did you know that physical exercise is also good for your brain? If you think you’re going to get smarter sitting in front of your computer or watching television, think again.

Nearly half of young people ages 12 to 21 do not participate in vigorous physical activity on a regular basis. Fewer than one-in-four children report getting at least half an hour of any type of daily physical activity and do not attend any school physical education classes. In June 2001, ABC News reported that school children spend 4.8 hours per day on the computer, watching TV, or playing video games.

The Languages of Love

love | PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT | relationship | self-improvement

I read this very interesting article about loving a person.

It says that there are five languages of love or simply the ways of showing you love a person. The object of your affection responds to the language that appeals to him or her the most. The person will believe that you love him/her once he/she sees you do one or a couple of these things.

What are these five languages of love?

1. giving gifts

Innocent Caucasian Girl Stands Before Hanged Man

innocence | Racism | self-improvement | Understanding

The distant staring eyes a few feet away from me only drives my paranoia to a climax. Distant laughter from bystanders causes my ears to search for any sound coming from their lips. What are they saying about me? Then I think to myself, could this fear turn into anger, all caused by the hateful acts of racism? I walk to another side of the library before I hear the words, hip-hop and gangster. Keep in mind, I don’t wear my pants hanging off of my ass, no du-rags (besides the one you see in that picture, which was not mines. The hat was not mine either), piercing or tattoos.

Too Busy Improving Myself To Join The Revolution

political unrest | self-improvement | social change | social unrest

How much alienation, anomie, anxiety, and disintegration must a person endure before the decision is made to seek change? Change, not on a micro- level, but on a macro- level.

While it is easier to create personal changes than social adjustments, such individual work can take a lifetime. Keep a person very busy and focussed on Self.

In this day and age of modern convenience and relative luxury, not to mention the massive and seemingly unapproachable institutions of the culture politic, those longing for macro- change are at a loss.

Everyone needs a life coach: The benefits of life coaching and how to become a life-coach

Do any of you readers often feel a void in your life.....like there's a piece of the puzzle missing even though the puzzle appears to be complete? If you answered yes to this question a life coach might be the answer to discovering your true self and desires and allow you to reach all your goals!
There are several different types of life coaches such as parent coaches, relationship coaches, weight loss coaches, corporate coaches, financial coaches ......the list goes on and on. Many people wonder the difference between a life-coach and a psychologist or counsellor. Life coaches are much more hands on and help direct you to reach your goals by basically creating a plan with you and then telling you what to do. Counsellors, on the other hand, mainly practice empathy and listening skills. Basically they listen to you open up about your issues and help you resolve them yourself. Coaching is much more proactive and can be used for even the ost trivial issues like "Organizing your life (or closet even!)

Our Authentic Selves

cathartic | inspirational | motivational | psychological | self-help | self-improvement | selfesteem | therapeutic

We often complain when something that we perceive to be wrong happens in our lives. We do not realize that when these things happen, it is to bring out the best in us and to teach us a spiritual principle that we are yet to learn. Whatever happens to us is always for our best interest and to develop our selves spiritually in order to be our authentic selves. Some of us live our lives as if we are playing a part, always acting out what we think other people would accept from us. We seem to be hungry and thirsty for attention and to be accepted by other persons. In so doing, we live our lives for other people and become actors and actresses in our own right. We perform our distinct roles in a number of different occasions, and we perform well. Unfortunately, in the process, our real selves are lost. We have hidden it in such a secret place that we ourselves cannot seem to find it. At times we never even realize that we once possessed it. What many of us don’t recognize is that when our real selves are lost, our happiness also gets lost along with it. We can never be really happy living in pretence, we might seem to be happy but this happiness is as fake as the person that we present to the world. A lot of this pretense happens subconsciously; it is not something that we purposefully go out there to do. It just happens! Believe it or not, we have ingrained fears, biases, irrational beliefs that act as defence mechanisms preventing our real selves from dealing with a particular situation as it is. Hiding behind a façade is easier on our egos; it is also a common misconception that we need that façade or defence mechanism in order to survive. One may ask; how can we break free from this repressive state? Well here is one simple exercise that you can begin to do, it is a gradual exercise in the sense that you will not see the results one time but it does challenge yourself, your soul and your whole train of thought. It is something that Yogis and Zen practitioners often practice, here is it: “Look at yourself, eyeball to eyeball in your mirror without having any expectations! Then tell me about the experience. Remember, it’s a gradual process to discover your authentic self.
