Salad in a Sack
Submitted by Brenna Fender on April 1, 2008 - 7:56pm. cooking | family life | humor | Recipes | saladI just made myself a salad. "Made" is a bit of a stretch. I opened the "salad in a sack" package, poured some into a bowl, added a dash of cheese, and sprinkled on a little dressing. I noticed that the sack o' salad had a recipe for Cobb salad on the back. The prep time for this recipe was 25 minutes.

Submitted by Silly Lady tric... on November 28, 2007 - 11:06am. crash | diet | fad | LAUGH | Recipes | tips | WeightHave you ever tried to lose weight using one of those three-day crash diets? Well you get to the end of the three days and youre like, "Yes! Ive lost ten pounds!!! I Fit those jeans!" And then you grab a bag of chips. Or you get on a real diet and youre doing great, then your period hits. You suddenly find yourself eating a box of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I think that losing weight is hard enough without all the emotion (which is why a lot of us eat so much) and all the stress (you maintain weight with stress). Plus all the pressure from a spouse (significant other), or from friends. Plus, who wants to have half a piece of dry chicken and a salad with no dressing? No one. Well I've been trying to lose weight since I was 15. Here's a few tips that I learned along the way:

What's Cooking, Grandma?
Submitted by hatsrus on April 22, 2007 - 11:42am. Food | grandmothers | Recipes | wandI was listening to "Weekend Woman's Hour" on BBC radio 4 yesterday afternoon. One of the items on the programme was about a new website called "what's Cooking, Grandma?". It was the conception of two young men who were talking one day about how wonderful their grandmas' cooking was and what a shame that old recipes were often lost.
Their first idea was for a website where Grandmas' recipes could be posted in writing. On further discussion they realised that most grandmothers don't weigh things, so how would someone following the recipe know what a handful of this ingredient or a pinch of that meant? So they decided that a site where video film of Grandmothers cooking their recipes was a far better idea.
