Imagine this scenario: you are watching the news and they go to a protest rally in China. Students are protesting for women's rights and start burning the flag. Immediatly armed military men come into the scene and grab the protestors. The reporter then says that this was done because such protest is illegal in China. What would you think of that? Nothing good, right?

Open letter To Agaric
Some good, hard working, freedom loving Americans feel that we should support our president, in any matter, and that to support our troops is to support our president.
Agaric is one such good American. He responded in a thread to one of my posts, critical of the administration's conduct of the war in Iraq. What follows is my open letter to Agaric:

All week several of the people on my street have been blowing up these things until late into the night waking us all up with pseudo heart attacks and leaving my cats in a complete state of panic. And last night was particularly bad, as I swear that illegal M-80's were being detonated yards from my home. I can only imagine what tonight will be like.

Her purity and innocence
Are signified by white
Vigilance and justice
Are the blue of shadowed night
Fearlessness and valor
Painted red her vivid gown
And for this She’ll never fade,
Or run, or be worn down
For everyone, she proudly wears
Pure white and midnight blue
But defenders of her home
She wears the red for you
How I learned to stop worrying and love the war.

Grandma lives pretty far away, but this is our tradition. Every year, since they were born, they go to her house to spend time with her, since they don't get to see her often throughout the year. It wasn't supposed to be like this. They were supposed to see my parents very little and her often, but the day I found out I was pregnant with my oldest is the same day we decided to move here for career opportunities. It's funny where life takes you sometimes.
What's So Classic?
Submitted by D Weezy on March 13, 2006 - 2:56pm. Baseball | Patriotism | SportsLast week I did an entry about the start of the World Baseball Classic. In that blog I asked would the games be good to watch and if the whole thing would be worth it or not.
Well the classic is now in its second week. For the most part the games have been pretty entertaining. The Dominicans beat the Venezuelans to start the whole thing. The Canadians blew out the eighty million dollar US team. Even yesterday there was a little controversy when the US manager argued to get a run taken away from the Japanese team which lead to the US winning by one run.
