For more than 40 years ago music lyrics have undergone dramatic changes. This is an issue of vital interest and concern for parents and pediatricians.
Since the past four decades, rock music lyrics have become increasingly explicit-particularly with reference to sex, drugs, and violence. Recently, heavy metal and "gangsta rap" music lyrics have elicited the greatest concern. In some cases lyrics communicate potentially harmful health messages. Such lyrics are of special concern in today's environment, which poses unprecedented threats to the health and well-being of adolescents. Pregnancy, drug use, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (and other sexually transmitted diseases), injuries, homicide, and suicide have all become part of the landscape of everyday life for many American teens.

Although the term stems from Apple’s iPod line of products it is generic in nature and refers to any MP3 (and increasingly, video) file provided via one Internet channel or another.

Have you ever gotten into one of those phases in your music listening life. It's like there's only one thing that will satisfy your ears. Your foot can only tap to one playlist (cd, whatever you're using these days) or maybe it's just a song.

Right now I'm in an Eric Clapton phase unplugged all the way. It started with Alberta, Alberta. Seriously I haven't been able to get that song out of my head for weeks! Luckily, I manage to listen to the other songs on the CD and enjoy them equally. So I'm not stuck in the one song rut.

Man used MP3 player to hack ATMs

A man in Manchester has been convicted of using an MP3 player to hack cash machines. Maxwell Parsons, 41, spent £200,000 of other people's money after using the machine to read card details.

Parsons plugged his MP3 player into the back of free standing cash machines and was able to use it to read data about customers' cards. That data could then be used to 'clone' cards and use them for bogus purchases.

After falling for that line more times than I care to recall, I have found a truly free source of music, videos, and pictures. I group I belong had a posting about some new add-ons for the program the group promotes. Just go to a site I had never heard of before, search for a particular screen name, and add the files to the program.
I had no interest in the add-ons being offered, but I am ALWAYS interested in sites I have never heard of (no porn, thanks). Here was the holy grail of websites. Just create a screen name and password, and any type of download you could want was instantly available, FREE! And no requests to subscribe, no instructions to get the file from another site (which ALWAYS seems to require a subscription), nothing.

I am one of the thousands of newbie in blogging media. But slowly I am making a progress.

Imagine my embarrassment yesterday, when my son who thinks big of me, queried me, �?Mom, why don’t you podcast your daily lecture?�? I begged him to give me an hour or so, which I thought would be sufficient to search the ever friendly internet, compile some information to satisfy him.

I am starting to think that I am the last person on the planet that still plays CDs and an occasional casette tape. Everywhere I look there is someone attached to an MP3 player, rockin out, dancin at the bus stop, walking down the grocery aisle, going for a jog, sitting in an airplane.....my God, when did I get so old! Where did these things come from and how did they pop up out of nowhere?
