Are Americans Lazy or Just Plain Stupid?

Our military is dwindling because no one wants to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. The soldiers we have been able to hold on to don't want to re-enlist because they have served multiple tours in both countries and not only are their families falling apart, but so is the American economy.

Let's face it.

When you are in the military, it's hard to find a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Army soldiers are constantly deployed. When they aren't deployed, they have to endure long, long hours. By the time they get off work, they are tired.

US cannot account for missing 190,000 weapons in Iraq...

US cannot account for 190,000 weapons 'missing in Iraq'

The US military cannot account for 190,000 AK-47 assault rifles and pistols given to the Iraqi security forces, an official US report says. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) says the Pentagon cannot track about 30% of the weapons distributed in Iraq over the past three years. The Pentagon did not dispute the figures, but said it was reviewing arms deliveries procedures. About $19.2bn has been spent by the US since 2003 on Iraqi security forces. GAO, said at least $2.8bn of this money was used to buy and deliver weapons and other equipment and correspondents say it is now feared many of the weapons are being used against US forces on the ground in Iraq. It just gets worse and worse doesn’t it, their invasion through arrogance creates more terrorists and now the Americans through their incompetence are arming the terrorists.

Who is Responsible?

They lure our children into joining the service with big promises and high ideals, pack them off to a foreign country to fight a war and then don't even bother to outfit them with enough key protective equipment including armored vehicles, roadside-bomb countermeasures and communications gear.

How many young men and women might have come home if they had been issued the right gear? What could be more important than equipping someone's loved one with the right gear to keep them safe and bring them home. How could our leaders not send enough equipment to deter roadside bombs with equipment designed to foil the roadside bombs by interfering with cell-phone signals that may be used to detonate them? What kind of people do that?

Declassification of military secrets and its implications in the bigger picture.

The United States Air Force has just declassified a top secret program that ran from 1977-1988. The program was a training program where Air Force fighter pilots would train in combat against actual Russian MiG aircraft in an effort to give them real world experience in dogfighting with the Russian aircraft. This program has been a closely guarded secret for almost thirty years. Not only that, this secret program was kept classified for almost twenty years after it was no longer active.

Your tax dollars at work: "Army Strong."

Last month, the United States Army announced that they will replace the more than five year old "An Army of one" marketing slogan with "Army Strong." Apparently the marketing contract went to a new company, and with it came a new slogan.

I was never a fan of "An Army of one," as it seems totally against everything that the Army stands for. Though I have thankfully never been through boot camp, it is my undertanding that any sense of individuality is essentially beaten out of you, making the Army not at all "an Army of one."

Bill to stop Protesters at Military Funerals!!

What could be worse than losing a loved one in war? You would think nothing right? You are already grieving for the loss however for some military families they still have to deal with a few other things that not your every day person must deal with.

Imagine being at the funeral to walk out and be greeted by the worst group of people...PROTESTERS. And they are happy your spouse or loved one is dead. They are cheering and saying he/she deserved to die. Even that God punished them because of the rest of the country. GET REAL!!!!

This is a really good use of technology.

I've just read about a new invention that is a dual-mode, external frame grabber that captures and broadcasts diagnostic quality pics and videos from any device with a monitor and USB port. It uses the USB port to capture from almost any VGA or DVI source, and was specifically developed for military and medical use.

Think about the implications. Doctors in one area can broadcast images to experts across the world for diagnostic treatment. Soliders can broadcast images of where they think an enemy is hiding, and can get more immediate feedback. This device has just made the world a lot smaller. For more info, check out http://www.epiphan.com

If 80 rockets pre month landed on your town, on your kids' school, your monuments, your businesses, parks, and buildings of worship, what would you do?

That's what the citizens of Sderot in Southern Israel experience and it is so commonplace the media - right wing, left wing, alternative, all of them in the freer world - barely report them, if they do, they refer to the very deadly but inaccurate rockets as "homemade."

A lieutenant in Washington State is refusing to report for duty in Iraq. He has made a statement that he has determined the fighting in Iraq to be in violation of War time policy of the military and therefore illegal. He has decided that to engage in the war would make him a war criminal. He faces several possible charges, including Court Marshall, and up to five years in prison.

The Mil Mi-24 (NATO reporting name 'Hind') is a versatile, multirole helicopter which acts as both a gunship and a troop transport. It is operated from 1976 by the Soviet Air Force, its successors, and over thirty other nations. Russian pilots nicknamed the aircraft letayushiy tank or 'flying tank' most probably due to its large size and heavy firepower. Another common nickname is Krokodil ('Crocodile'), a name which derived from the helicopter's camouflage and hull shape.

Ruthless Protesting, Stop Spitting On Their Graves

I am angry, I am pissed! I have been holding this in for a week, hoping this anger would soon fade away. Nope. It doesn’t work that way.

I will not express at this time how I feel about the war. All my usual opinions do not count today. Because this is not about the war or the right to protest. This is about being so disgustingly disrespectful that I scream when I speak of this.

Americans protesting at the funerals of our soldiers. Yelling profanity at the families of these men and woman who served OUR country. Waving signs with Gods name on them and spitting on their graves. How dare anyone judge another human being, believe me their judgement will reflect on their actions of today.

Jessica Lynch was almost a house hold name in 2003. Jessica was a girl who signed up for the military to get tuition money and ended up getting raped mercilessly by Saddam loyalists.
She was an Army Clerk who was taken captive after a shoot down between Iraqis and Americans. She was rescued by American troops from an Iraqi hospital The entire ordeal was taped and sent the media, government and citizens into a frenzy.

Church Protests at Military Funerals?

I was recently reading a news article online about a church group that apparently goes to the funerals of soldiers that were killed in Iraq to protest. Apparently these protesters carry signs thanking god for IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) that kill so many in Iraq and shout jeers and curses at the family members of the deceased veterans. They even wrap themselves in upside down American flags.
