I keep getting these things in the mail for Globe Life Insurance and from other companies. For some reason, I always save them because I don't feel right about throwing them away. But I can't bring myself to open them yet, either.

Life Insurance is too Definite

He had been suffering with Lewy Body dementia and had had several strokes in the last few months. This is the end of an arduous journey for my mother-in-law, my husband, and his sister and brother. My husband's father was the son of Italian immigrants who came to America to build a good life for themselves and for their children.
GoodBye - A Poem

Schooling my features
Forcing a smile
A sickly attempt
Trying
Strain in my voice
Telling you its okay
Go ahead and go
Lying
The echo of my sobs
Reverberate off the walls
Of my empty abode
Crying
Pain in my heart
Too much to bear
Shriveling up inside
Dying

There Is A Reason
Submitted by ms zola on March 26, 2006 - 8:53pm. comfort | dying | living | wiped a tearThere was a song in the 60’s Is That All There Is? I have felt that way about life on more than one occasion. As I am sure others have also. But sometimes we can’t see how much our lives influence other people. It’s not always the big heroic things we do, sometimes it’s the small insignificant gestures or words that count.
What if you had never lived? Can you think of a time you comforted someone, helped someone, was a friend, or the strength in your family? Was there ever a time you made someone laugh? Or wiped a tear and promised that things would get better? Have you volunteered or dropped some money into the hands of charity? Has anyone ever asked you for advice? Have you waited in the emergency room or patiently walked the halls of a hospital while someone was sick or dying? Have you helped a pet, fed or watered it?
I saw someone walk past a body and look the other way.

Body | dead | dying | unconciousMy husband and I were driving home from a meeting around 9 pm - and I noticed a body on the footpath beside the golf cub. Was he dead or just unconscious? Dying? We had to drive a little further on, do a U-turn and come back. There on the footpath was a young man, unconscious, flat on his back on the cement pathway.
