Fantasy SportsSubmitted by mrhobbie on February 7, 2008 - 3:23am. Baseball | basketball | fantasy league | fantasy sports | football | games | golf | NASCAR | SportsI played in a fantasy sports league this year for the first time. I played in a basketball league. I thought it would be real simple. You pick the players you want but there is a salary cap which means that you can't load your team with nothing but all the best players. I was doing good the first couple of weeks but had to really spend a lot of time researching what was going on around the league with the players and all. Had to keep track of what teams Red Sox, World Series Champs, 2007!Submitted by Catfish on October 28, 2007 - 3:54pm. Baseball | Boston Red Sox | World SeriesOkay, I'm jumping the gun just a little bit, but man, this series to date has looked more like a professional team versus a college team. At least last night Colorado put up a little bit of a fight, but then they were summarily dismissed as the posers they are. What Sports Is All AboutSubmitted by Catfish on October 9, 2007 - 8:31pm. Baseball | Buffalo | Cowboys | Dallas | euphoria | football | Red Sox | SportsA couple of weeks ago, my wife asked me what the big appeal was to sports, and why people bothered with it. She's obviously not a sports fan, but even being one, I couldn't figure out an articulate way to get it across to her. Mets and Red SoxSubmitted by Catfish on September 27, 2007 - 6:47pm. Baseball | Boston Red Sox | New York MetsI hate baseball! Okay, that's not true, but man, I'm really not in the best of moods this last week of the regular season. How the heck did the Mets lose a 7 game lead with only 17 games remaining? How is it that the Red Sox can't seem to get that big win to finally keep the hated Yankees from winning, dare I say, their 13th straight division pennant, when at one point this year they had a 14 game lead? Little League ParentsSubmitted by Catfish on May 8, 2007 - 7:43pm. Baseball | Karr | parentsDriving back from walking at the lake today, I decided to go a different route so I could wash my car. The way I went took me by this elementary school, which I knew was there, but also by a little league baseball game, which I didn't know was played there because I never noticed the little baseball diamond that was there. I think it's relatively new, because I've lived in this area for decades now, though it's probably been at least a year since I've been on this street. St. Louis CardinalsSubmitted by Cards1 on April 30, 2007 - 2:34pm. Baseball | lottery syndicate | SportsI have been a St. Louis Cardinals fan for as long as I can remember. You have some of the greatest players to have ever played for the Cardinals. You have Joe Torre, Stan Musial, Lou Brock, Ozzie Smith, and now Albert Pujols. BASEBALL CARD SELLS FOR $2.35 MILLION !!!Submitted by straightshooter on February 27, 2007 - 1:42pm. Baseball | entertainment | Make Money | Sports | sports betting$2.35 Million is a lot of money for a piece of cardboard with a picture on it and thats the amount that was paid for a 1909 Honus Wagner, considerd by some as the best one out of about 60 known to exist, it is in pristine condition. These cards were inserted into a pack of cigarettes at that time - not a good thing in todays world. Abu Ghraib | al-Zarqawi | Baseball | Iraq | O Ceallaigh's Observations | Ozzie Guillen | retaliate | SportsSo the manager of Major League Baseball’s Chicago White Sox, Ozzie Guillen, is going to sensitivity training. Guillen got frothing mad at a columnist for a Chicago paper (Jay Mariotti, Chicago Sun-Times) and called him a name. Look it up if you want. I don’t care. Everybody knows that by calling somebody a name, any name, you’ve conceded the argument and are trying to win by a sucker punch. Even Bud Selig, the kindergarten teach … sorry, Commissioner of Major League Baseball, the very same one who brought you bottle blonde Barry Bonds, digs that. Which is why he demanded an apology, which Guillen gave to the offended group of people named but not to the columnist, and sentenced Guillen to the class. Sports Betting. NO FREE Picks >:0Submitted by James Champion on June 21, 2006 - 9:26pm. Baseball | basketball | Gambling | soccer | world cupThe NBA Champion was crowned last night. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to write about it today. Where there’s a will, there isn’t always a way nowadays. Anyways, as anyone who reads my blog knows, I picked Dallas to win. I was wrong. I admit it. But what have we learned here. Numero uno: Pat Riley is a great coach. Now I knew he was a very good coach, but he did most of his damage with the showtime Lakers of the 80’s. I was still a twinkle in my father’s eye back then. He had some good years with the Knicks and in his first stint as the Heat coach, but he didn’t win anything. When you don’t win, it tends not to matter how good you really are. Today, Dwayne Wade is everyone’s vote getter for best player in the league. A month ago he was just very good. Sports Betting Knows Pressure. Baseball | basketball | Cheating | clutch | decisions | Gambling | golf | Hockey | mario brothers | money | pressureAlthough hockey’s post season is arguably the greatest and most exciting, I have not watched much. But last night was different. Last night was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. In realty, you have to watch the game that decides it all in any sport, especially a game 7. Due to living on the west coast, my lengthy commute from work, and an errand or two, when I walked in the house the second period was coming to a close. The Carolina Hurricanes were leading 2 goals to none. Sports Betting really does it all. Baseball, basketball, soccer, horse racing, boxing, and girl on girl action. It’s still pretty early out here in the West. I am watching England versus Paraguay. I recorded the game so I am a little behind. I am just about through to the second half so nobody ruin it for me. Anyway, I didn’t have a chance to write on Friday because I was so worn out from drinking on Wednesday night that all I could do was sleep when I got home Thursday. If I don’t at least get my ideas in writing the night before I will not be able to write the day of because of work. I have to go back to something that happened on Wednesday at the bar. I saw two women kiss. Not just any two women. I would describe one as sexy. And the other somewhere between very pretty and cute with a nice body. Actually, they both had nice bodies. Different, but equally nice. Sports Betting's NBA Finals Preview. Or Lack Thereof. FREE Picks!!!Submitted by James Champion on June 8, 2006 - 9:13am. alcohol | Baseball | basketball | beer | drinking | Gambling | NBA finals | sports bettingThe NBA playoffs are set to start tonight. I picked the Mavericks to make it this far. However not many, me included, can say they saw this coming from the Heat. During the regular season they were 1-11 versus the top 3 or 4 teams in the association. The only win was a huge come from behind victory at home versus the Pistons. I believe the final score was 93-92. I remember this so vividly because I bet this game on my final day in Vegas before I moved to San Diego. We left before the game was over because you can mail in your betting slip. I listened to the game on the radio. I took the Pistons as one point favorites. It was heart wrenching. I think Detroit was up 20 or so points at one point in that one. |
