I know there's a joke in here somewhere, but I'll let Sire and the other Aussies come up with it instead.

Submitted by gracepub on October 29, 2007 - 7:27pm. australiaUntil recently, I never thought much about travel. But I am starting to realize the freedom my job allows. Maybe it is because my children are almost grown. Maybe it is because I've lived behind a computer for more than ten years. I am not sure, but I do believe I am suffering from wanderlust.

Trip to Australia

A while back, my best friend moved to Australia. She went and fell for a guy that lives there, went and visited him, stayed in some Sydney Hotels, and married him while she was on vacation!! She got to see all the sights, including the amazing Opera House pictured above. They took a short honeymoon, possibly to some Melbourne Hotels. And after the honeymoon, she went back to her home in Canada to get everything packed, and then returned to Australia!

We sympathise with our Aussie cousins terrible weather during the last week

In recent years it has been drought and bushfires that Australia and Aussies have had to endure. We here in New Zealand have been extremely pleased that our fire-fighters were able to help out late last year and early this year.

Their rise to a position of being one of the most popular acts of the day was surprising and meteoric and the group itself possessed one of the more unique sounds of the '80s.

They were one of the greatest success stories of the early '80s even if they were critically reviled.
Little River Band "We Two"
Submitted by Pop Go The 80s on May 30, 2006 - 1:52pm. 1983 | adult contemporary | album | australia | John Farnham | Little River Band | pop | Top 40 singleAustralia's Little River Band could lay claim to being one of that country's most successful exports on the American charts in the late '70s and early '80s. From their Top 40 debut with "It's A Long Way There" in 1976, they group had matched that success with ten more singles by early 1983. However, coming off their biggest studio album, 1981's Time Exposure, and a gold-selling Greatest Hits collection from the following year, Little River Band lost their original lead singer, Glenn Shorrock, to a solo career.
