Sweet Christmas Tree - Candy and Cereal Garland

The first thing you put on your sweet treats Christmas tree after setting it up is a festive garland. Using stout thread and a needle, alternate five pieces of colorful fruit loop cereal with one gumdrop. Keep stringing on this pattern until the garland is long enough to wrap around the Christmas tree. You can string the cereal and candy in different combinations if you wish, or use other circular cereal and gumdrops as well.

Sweet Christmas Tree - Hard Candy Ornaments

Dangling from the branches of your Christmas tree are a variety of traditional ornaments made of glass, wood, plastic, and ceramic. If your holiday theme includes a sweet candy Christmas tree, swap all those materials for hard candy and chocolates.

Any wrapped candy can form an ornament. Glue the plastic ends of wrappers together to form hard candy icicles that hang down. Use a simple cardboard ring to attach foil wrapped chocolate coins to make a pretty Christmas wreath ornament.

Do not use a hot glue gun on plastic candy wrappers, and do not put any chocolate candies next to lights or heat sources. Use wire ornament hooks carefully, and be sure to remove them from any candies that may end up in a child's mouth. Your creativity is the only limit to decorating safely with candy.
