The winner of my fourth Stupid Parent Award is actually someone who used to be a friend of our. His level of stupidity is actually the reason why he we are no longer friends. After seeing him make this major mistake, we decided we didn’t want our kids being around him, possibly getting hurt.

This man is a single dad. He was given custody of his son after his ex-wife admitted to the judge that she was a meth addict. Just because she wasn’t fit to raise him doesn’t necessarily mean that her ex-husband was. He may not have been addicted to illegal drugs, but we are pretty sure he is an alcoholic. (BTW- No, I'm not saying alcohol use makes you a bad parent. Please read on.)

The alcohol isn’t the real problem. The problem is that, after getting drunk one night, he decided to put his son (who was three at the time) in the truck with him (and without a car seat, which by law he still needed). He then drove to the store to get more beer.

I failed to mention that they live with the dad’s parents, so there were plenty of capable adults who could’ve a) run to the store since they weren’t drinking, b) watched the little boy, and c) made sure he didn’t get that drunk to begin with. Instead, he chose to put his son at harm, not to mention everyone else on the roads.
