Stupid Parents Award #1- No Car Seat

A couple of years ago, I was pulling out of a gas station just as a car came pulling into the lot. Barely missing our car as it turned in, I was given a full view of the vehicle and could really assess the situation.

The other car’s windows were rolled down. A man was riding in the passenger seat, a woman was driving. In this lady’s arms was a very new baby, no more than a month old.

Yes, you read it right. This lady was driving with a newborn in her arms. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I already mentioned that her windows were rolled down. To top that off, I also mentioned that she almost hit me. Did I add to that the fact that she almost hit someone else in the parking lot as well?

I could only imagine this tiny newborn being flung out the window if this lady got in an accident. This lady is the recipient of my first Stupid Parent Award.

I swear some people should not be allowed to procreate!

Sassys – April 16, 2007 – 11:09am

Sadly

I know a few of those people myself...

Some parents are truly stupid. There is a law in

England that young children must be strapped into a proper car seat. The times I have seen cars driving on the motorway at speed with two or three little ones standing loose in the back.

It's a law here, as well

in fact in many states, they have to stay in booster car seats until they are 7 or 8 years old. You can't even take a baby home from the hospital without a proper car seat.

Good Choice for #1 Stupid

parents in the whole freakin' world Allie...maybe you should have taken down their license number and had the police put some bite on their dumb a-ss's as well.

It is sometime a real shame that some of these careless parents don't need to be required to have at least one functioning brain cell to even have a child...what the 'hel-lo' where these people thinking about that was so much more important than their own precious little cargo?

Glad they didn't run you over! BTY!

I actually wanted to

get their tag number. Unfortunately, they had one of those "Tag applied for" signs instead of a tag. I have, in fact, been known to call the police when I see unbuckled children.
