Starving the People

Only one third of the 6 billion people on the planet eat meat. It is because of this one third that we do not have enough food to feed everyone. It takes 2.5 acres of land to feed one person beef, or 2 people chicken. This includes the space animals occupy and the food grown to feed them. 2.5 acres per one cow or two chicken.
On the same 2.5 acres 15 people can be fed whole grains, 20 people a variety of vegetables and 22 people on potatoes.
Are we using the land wisely? Not at all. So one billion of our population starves, while two billion over eats. There is enough usable land in the world to feed 10 billion people.
Remember when you bit into a hamburger, you are eating for twenty people.
