St. Louis Cardinals

I have been a St. Louis Cardinals fan for as long as I can remember. You have some of the greatest players to have ever played for the Cardinals. You have Joe Torre, Stan Musial, Lou Brock, Ozzie Smith, and now Albert Pujols. Growing up I always loved baseball I have always dreamed of becoming a Cardinals player. I remember my first game I ever went to. It was against the Florida Marlins. I sat behind home plate in the terrace seats. I remember that day so well as a kid I never thought that I would ever see a live game. I still remember to this day when I saw the ball drop to tear down the old Bush Stadium it was a nightmare.I went to four games in the old Stadium and every game I went to they won by a large margin. In 2006 the Cardinals won the World Series and I never would have thought that in my lifetime they would win it all. I will always love the St. Louis Cardinals until the day I die.

I too am an avid Cardinal fan, I remember listening to the radio and Franz Lox was the radio announcer. Marty Marion, Stan Musial, Ducky Medwick, Bill McGee, Enos Slaughter, Whitie Korowski were my early idols. That was years ago while I hung around my grandfathers car dealership and garage. It seemed the radio was always on. There wasn't any television in those days but it was just as exciting to hear the announcer as he exclaimed "it's a home run".

When I was a kid the St. Louis Browns were still in existance and I was a member of the "knot hole gang". They would reserve a section in old Sportsman Park for the gang and I can remember seeing a couple of games one summer. This was right after the great depression and most families were dirt poor so it was really something to go to a big league game.

We went to the Cardinal game last night and they beat Houston 3 -2. It broke a long dry spell of loses, maybe they'll get things turned around soon and be the Cards of old.

Regards and keep rooting for our "Red Birds"

Rob
