Sports Betting would never do this to any of you. Well maybe if it was for Corona or Hoegaarden. FREE Picks!!!

Some of you might remember a beer ad awhile back that portrayed an arrogant, pompous, and selfish athlete named Leon. It was an obvious exaggeration of the modern day athlete’s attitude. Awhile back there was also a minor league trade that I meant to report to you guys where a man was traded for, get this, 60 cases of beer! That is one thousand, four hundred, and forty shiny cans of sweet hobo elixir. That's not even the best part. The best part is that these guys are the same guy. Even if the team charges 5 bucks per beer at the park, that still only comes out to $7200. They could have traded him for a used 1999 Honda Civic. Mostly high way miles; xclnt condition.

I would be remiss if I did not mention one of the worse teams anywhere. The Kansas City Royals record fell to 10-32 after they lost their 13th straight game yesterday. KC is in the midst of their second double digit losing streak on the young season. They lost the past two games after leading 4-0 and 6-0. I don’t think the Royals have been good in my lifetime. Check that, my sports lifetime. I think they made a World Series appearance in 1985, but that is not really relevant to me.

I spend about 2 hours on public transportation everyday so I read the paper. Check that. I read some of the paper, definitely the sports section. So I know dumb facts like, the Air Force Academy baseball team was a putrid 10-36 this season. And was eliminated from the Mountain West tournament by way of a 22-1 shellacking at the hands of the 22-36 San Diego State Aztecs, skippered by hall of famer Tony Gwynn. Some might argue that this is a worse team than the Royals. Those people would be making an inaccurate observation. The thing to keep in mind here is that the Royals are professionals. It’s just down right pitiful people.

Moving on to something less depressing. The Pistons beat the Heat 92-88 last night. I was nearly dead on point in my 95-90 prediction. We almost had a second league aided win this post season. How many times does James Posey have to grab Chauncey Billups before the refs call a foul? How many times does Tayshaun Prince have to ask for timeout before the refs give it to him? Here’s the deal:

playoffs:
DALLAS(-7.5) over phoenix

MLB:
dodgers over NATS
brew crew over PHILLS
stros over PIRATES
CINCY over arizona
cards over FATHERS
GIANTS over rocks
D RAYS over bo sox
TIGERS over indians
YANKS over royals
white sox over B JAYS
TEXAS over oak town
TWINS over mariners
orioles over ANGELS

Royals

I was at yankee stadium last night to watch the royals break their 13 game losing streak against the bronx bombers. Stayed through the rain delay and everything.

somebody got rich yesterday

yesterday when I was making my picks. i looked at the Royals line and thought someone is going to get rich the day these guys finally break the streak. I think the line was (+340) yesterday. You would have gotten almost 3.5 times your money if you bet the royals to win. Conversely I think the line for the Yanks was (-415). You'd be getting less than 4 times the money you layed. If you bet 100 bucks on the yanks, you could only have won about 22 bucks.
