Sports Betting sides with the minority. FREE Picks!!!

I took an Argument and Debate class in college. Since I like to argue for the sake of mental exercise, I once took a position in favor of sweat shops. My reasoning for doing so was that since I wear so much Nike footwear and apparel, who am I to disagree.

If you had not heard, the Houston Texans selected Mario Williams, not Reggie Bush with the number one overall pick in last weekend's NFL draft. While everyone else gawks at this decision, I will try to defend it.

The Houston Texans play in the AFC South. Indianapolis also plays in the NFC South. How can you beat the Peyton Manning and the Colts without defense? You can't. No team can outscore them. But if you can stop their offense you have at least have a shot at beating them. Tennessee is not a realistic threat anytime soon, especially when they either release or trade Steve McNair. Then there's Jacksonville. I don’t think anyone is picking them to win the Super Bowl, but they're certainly a threat to win 10 games with that good defense and Leftwich at quarterback. Mostly they win by physically dominating you. Mario Williams is 6’6 and weighs 290 pounds.

I keep hearing that if the Texans would have chosen Bush they would sell more jerseys or more box seats. This may be true. But for how long if you’re team is not winning. Winning cures all ills in sports. Listening to the fans will get you fired. Listening to the fans would have made the Jets choose Matt Leinart with the fourth pick. Or trade half their draft and a linebacker in order to swap spots with the Saints and draft Reggie Bush themselves. Then again I have never seen a player like Reggie Bush in my life. Ah well, no one really knows until the games are played.

In Vibe Magazine 20 questions style, how good is the new show THEIF? Would Andre Braugher be a household name if this show was not on the FX channel? Here’s the deal:

NBA Playoffs: my record is pretty bad at this point
milwaukee(+12) over DETROIT-You may not want to put your faith in this pick based on my reasoning. It's just a hunch because the closest game was decided by 11 points. I feel that there has to be a close game in here somewhere. Billups is a nightmare match up for T.J. Ford, but I think this will be decided by 6 to 8 points...That's relatively close.
washington(+5.5) over CLEVELAND

MLB:
NATS over marlins
braves over PHILLS
giants over BREWERS
ASTROS over cards
reds over ROCKIES
cubs over D BACKS
DODGERS over padres
blue jays over RED SOX
angels over TIGERS
yanks over D RAYS
WHITE SOX over mariners
RANGERS over orioles
TWINS over royals
ATHLETICS over indians-this pick is a test to see how travel affects a baseball team. Yesterday the Indians were in Cleveland. The A's were in Anaheim.

i like theif. It's slow and

i like theif. It's slow and well paced. I do sorta wish the show was more focused on the actual heist, but I appriciate all the other stuff going on.

Also I tought it was sorta cool to see a show sorta dominated by minorities, but not be a "black" show.

As far as the lead being a 'House hold" name...im not sure. I mean he's certainly as cool as Jack Bouer, but in a different way, but I'd have to wait to see how the show plays out.

I like Theif too

Theif has become one of my favorite shows. I think the the next epsisode is the season finale. There has only been about 6 shows.

I actually like the fact that it is not focused on one heist because I am not looking forward to anything in particular. But at the rate that people are eliminated I cannot really see this show on for more than 2 more seasons at max. That might be good because when shows are on too long they can lose their luster.

Good point you made about the minority thing and it actually ties in well to this blog as a whole.

This dude is definitely cool. He is honorable. I don't watch 24 so I don't know how he compares to Jack Bauer. I want to watch it, but since I have not I do not want to start in the middle of the 4th season or whatever it is. I would rather get all the episodes and start from the beginning.

Nick Atwater Is The Thief We All Should Aspire To Be

Andre Braugher was untouchable as Det. Frank Pembleton in NBC's "Homicide" and as Nick Atwater no one comes close to his "Coolness"; i.e. in one evening he's faced with the tragic death of his wife and having to put a bullet in the head of a trusted associate...that speaks volumes in coolness to me, from a purely Evilishly cool standpoint. Braugher is under-rated to say the least and Jack Bauer, for all his CTU skills and daring doesn't hold a candle to Nick Atwater when it comes to being the Man In Charge and the Man To Be Reckoned With.
