Yesterday I went 1-1 on NBA games and loss yet another bonus pick bringing my season record to 8-5-1. As always I will pick basketball games, but today is devoted to the greatest game. This is my Super Bowl XL blowout special and it is dedicated to that special lady out there. She knows who she is. I will now put on my football prognosticator hat to help make all of you a little bit richer in the new year. I’m like T.O. before he started to gain notoriety. Right now it’s for the love, but pretty soon I might have to start charging you guys.

You got to love what the Steelers are doing. They are the first 6th seed to make it to the Super Bowl and the first team to make it to the Super Bowl winning all their games on the road. You got to love the way Big Ben is playing as second year quarterback. I told you guys when I picked the championship games that Big Chin aka Coach Cowher needed to put the game in Roethlesberger’s hands and Pittsburgh would win. Most of all, you got to like Jerome Bettis playing in his first Super Bowl in his hometown.

Playing at a neutral site, the Seahawks won’t have their raucous home fans behind them. Playing at Qwest field is quickly becoming one of the best home field advantages in the NFL. The bottom line is that people simply do not recognize that the Seattle is a good team. Seattle lead the league in sacks without a dominant defensive player, which means they bring it from everywhere. They have maybe the best offensive line in the league. Shaun Alexander is the single season touchdown king, the league MVP, and the rushing title holder all rolled into one. And when he went down in the Washington game, he stepped up and beat a pretty good defense.

This is a precarious position I find myself in. The line is Pittsburgh(-4). I think it is just Pittsburgh year. Those guys will be playing so hard to get a win for Coach Cowher and Bettis. But I think Seattle will cover the spread. The final score will be Pittsburgh 24, Seattle 23 so take Seattle and the 4 points.
