I know my NBA picks from Sunday are not documented but I went 7-2. I went 4-1 last night for an overall record of 11-3 over the past two days. But I don’t really have much to show for it. I am still afraid to pull the trigger. I pick all games, but I only bet on one or two a night. If I can’t trust my instincts then what am I betting games for. This point is highlighted by the fact that I did bet on Phoenix last night. And for the second consecutive day they annihilated their opponent in the fourth quarter. On Sunday they almost doubled Dallas’s fourth quarter point total overcoming a 10 point deficit in the process. Last night the Hornets fell victim to explosive Sun offense. Phoenix, down 8 going into the fourth, scored 30 to the Hornets 9 and won the game by 13. I almost took the Jazz at home versus the Magic as my can’t lose pick. No matter because both Phoenix and Utah covered. The Jazz lead comfortably for most of the game, but Orlando made a run to close out the game. Unfortunately for the people who took the Magic, a technical foul was called with just seconds to go. Utah center, Mehmet Okur, sunk the free throw giving the Jazz a 5 point victory and a cover of the 4.5 point spread. The only reason I even lost a game last night is because by reading a few game previews I got the impression that Dwayne Wade was going to play despite having a sprained wrist that kept him out of the previous game. He did not play. The Heat cam back in the fourth, inexplicably sending the game into OT, which in turn caused me to lose on the under of 199 which caused me to lose a 3 team parlay. The point is when I am on the winning end of these close or unusual finishes’ I need to take advantage. As always things change so I will make updates throughout the day if people are interested.
