So Did the WU Just Disappear?
I know a few weeks - maybe months - back, I heard some folk talking about Writing Up had lost several posts or something. I guess this was about the time everyone started coming over here to hang out. But I hadn't posted there in months, so I didn't mess with it.
Tonight however, I was organizing some of my bookmarks and I came across a mess of old WU links and decided I'd go see if they'd lost my posts, too (so I could just delete them from my bookmarks, if they had), and the site never came up at all.
Is it just... gone? Or been having problems or... what's the story?

I think the site is under a different name
but without going back thru the posts on Blogfeast, I am not sure what it was being called now. It looks the same, just called something different.
I remember reading that if you had posts there, they were all gone. Which really sucks for me, because I had written a short story for a challenge, and posted it there. I, like an idiot, didn't save it to my word file, and I dont think I can get it back. It is just gone. It was a really good story also, and I should have printed it out or saved it. Too bad now. I will see if I can find the name of it for ya.

hmm, i havent been on there in ages. i started off there and then came here....i wasnt crazy about the other bloggers & their comments so got turned off & would just post pay to blog things there.....odd to know all our writing is just gone...poof!

the only thing I could find
was a comment about how there was new site that looked just like Writing Up, it is called communati.com.
It just seems like at first Writingup was there, but all the old posts were completely gone, and just like Manodogs, I tried to pull the site tonight, and nothing.

Well, for the most part, I have my posts saved. I started copying them to my hard drive just so that I could post them elsewhere, too. Funny, how it looks like that saved my butt!

I think the mass exodise of the big bloggers from WU to www.communati.com did more to expedite the demise of WU than anything else - even being down for weeks at a time.
