Sick of depression

Depression hurts

I am so sick of suffering from depression. I remember the first time I went through it, I had no idea what was going on with me, It was as if I was in a new world and changing badly. I have been up and missing a lot of rest for a good long time by now and it seems like the more I miss rest is the more I feel nausious or sick or something. Has any here ever been through depression but has gotten over it? Do you or a love one suffer from it now? If so like what do you do to help ease the problems and the symptoms of it? God and panic attacks too. Is it that hard to focus on one main thing with a panic attack occurs? I just wish this could end with me :-(

Get ur thyroids checked!

you're not alone

never think it's too much, because it usually isn't. do research, reach out, make friends w/ others w/ similar problems. it can only help. but above all else, make a vow to yourself that you will find the way to conquer these feelings and then do it.

Try Coconut Virgin Oil

Really, some say it improves the thyroids and reduces panic attacks. You can also add Vit B 12 supplements and MOST OF ALL, get into a swimming pool and relaz as you float. (Do not swim - just float -because this helps you relax) Prayer too is important!

Bring salt

A difficult and dangerous topic for anonymous online dialogue. Each case is different, what works for me might not for you. And there's a lot of garbage out there. And even the non-garbage is obscured by the placebo effect - in about 30% of cases, sugar pills work as well as medicines, simply because the patient believes in the sugar pills (which are often sold as something else).

Some common denominators.

1. A medical (not psychiatric) checkup. Be sure the depression isn't due to some physical illness or condition.

2. Exercise. Especially outside in the sun.

3. Human contact. Talk with real people in real time.

(Note that the "cavern" of a tech / video game life often provides little of 2. and 3.)

4. Meditation. Prayer is a form of meditation, but in my experience most Christian churches teach prayer in a form that loses the connection to meditation. And you'd need an "open and affirming" one, they're not terribly common, I fear, especially these days. A meditation discipline like yoga or (too bad it's so expensive to start) TM often works wonders.

5. Substances. Many licit and illicit drugs contribute to depression. If you're taking prescription medication, see 1. If you're drinking a lot of alcohol, stop - booze is a big-time depressant. Drinking to cure "the blues" is like pouring gasoline on a fire.

Hope this helps.

Incidentally, a search at www.pubmed.gov (primary medical literature) didn't find anything supporting the anti-depressive benefits of coconut oil, virgin or otherwise. But see "placebo effect" - don't diss anything that works. The other items posted here so far all fit somewhere in the first four points I mentioned.

well

Anyone can get through this... you just have to find a hobby, something to do and you love it... like reading, painting... and try to go out more often with your friends....helps...

thyroid problems

I'm a depressive person as well. I just get sad without an apparent reason. Your thyroid hypothesis may be a good idea. I know I have problems with that but I treat it with suboxone detox.
