She's Coming!

babies | family life | induction | pregnancy

I'm having labor induced on Monday, so I'll be meeting my daughter on October 30th! I never thought I'd be a candidate for induction, and certainly never expected to make a decision to give birth before the baby's actual due date of November 7th (although I admit I hoped she would come early). The doctor says it's best for the baby's health since we had some test results early on that indicated potential problems at the end of the pregnancy. We've been monitoring her weekly since 32 weeks along (we are now 38.5 weeks along - pregnancy is supposed to be about 40 weeks). So far she's super healthy and the doctor suggests encouraging her out now in order to avoid a potential problem later for no reason.

So, wish me luck, not only during the actual induction but also before hand as I race to finish many unfinished things before our little darling makes her debut.

Thank you!

I'm sure I'll be back before Monday. Some people I work with (boss, reporters, etc.) are taking bets on when she'll arrive. Some think it will be pre-induction, so we will see.

Here's wishin' you and the babe luck, Brenna from Ol' Bob

I M hope'n that all goes well for you and the not-yet birth'd baby child...this must be a scary an' axcitin' time for you and her, well you anyhow, she's all snug as a bug in the wombed place. I just recently found out that my naturalized mamma went 44 weeks a'fore she squeezed me out, which probably accounts for my somewhat oversized head. You have a safe and wonderouslishish birthin' expectorant and Ol' Bob will be sayin' a couple of prayers for ya and the little one.
Adios,
Bob

Thank you, Bob!

And let me go on record saying that your mom is a saint!

Brenna, this is

Brenna, this is fantastic!!

Both of mine were induced and I really liked it. I got to know beforehand what day they would be born, and even in a way, choose their birthday.

Give her a kiss and tell her lots of people are thinking about her and wishing her a great birthday!

It wasn't too bad?

I'm glad to hear that you had inductions and they went well. I wish I could be a bit more flexible about the date. I'd prefer Nov. 1 to Oct. 30th, mostly because I'm afraid the induction won't work quickly (they swear it will) and she'll wind up with that Halloween birthday I've been dreading anyway. Also, I'm missing my kid's Halloween party that way, and my husband's got some pretty significant crap going on at work that he's going to miss.

BUT, if the doctor says you should do it this day for the good of the baby, then what are you going to do? If I waited and something happened to her I'd never get over that.

I'm nervous about this whole thing really. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

No. It was a breeze. My

No. It was a breeze. My blood pressure was sky high with my first one so they had to induce. It went so well that with the next one I told the doctor that because an hour and a half to drive to the hospital, and it was wintertime in a state where we get a bit of snow, I wanted to schedule. She agreed it would be smartest to do it that way.

With the first one they got it going and then I watched some TV and took a whirlpool bath. After I got out it was time for an epidural, and I took a nap afterwards. The second was even easier although they cheated me outta my whirlpool. lol

I'm hoping things go just as smoothly for you. Of course you are nervous, but be confident in your abilities and your doctor's abilities.

NICE!

I don't expect any whirlpools, but your experience sounds very positive. Thanks for sharing!
