Seven Years For Enslavement

crime | kidnapping | slavery

This one isn't as bad as the guy in Austria, but it's still troubling.

A women was sentenced to 7 years in jail because she forced a Haitian girl to work as a slave for years in her South Florida home. The girl had to work 7 days a week, 15 hours a day at a minimum, taking care of the woman, her elderly mother, and her husband, who got 18 months of probation because he left his wife back in 2001, but still knew about the girl's enslavement and didn't do anything about it.

I have to link to this story because overall it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. This woman was a teacher who supposedly was well liked in her community. She still claims she loved this girl and only wanted the best for her. I mean, really, how deluded can one person be? And then to only get 7 years,... why isn't this kidnapping?

Anyway, there's the story; we are so troubled,...

It's messed up and it's even more messed up that this woman would do it to another woman! She claims to have loved her...hell she must be one hell of an enemy to those she dislikes!

Isn't it funny, Sassys,...

how people can find ways to justify bad behavior like this? Just like that sadist in Austria saying he took care of the family he had locked up in the cellar because it was him, after all, who did bring HIS daughter/GRANDDAUGHTER to the hospital. Sheesh!

Reviews of Everything, reviews and opinions of, well, almost anything!

This woman Catfish is sorta like

your "friend"...she doesn't choose to see her behavior as harmful to others...totally self absorbed and brutally in denial.
