I was writing these notes last night, 9/11/06, as I was watching the ABC Special presentation,"The Road To 9/11". At the time I began, the program was to my view, plodding along. At the mention of Zacarias Moussaoui, I cringed. My feeling for months was that he did not receive a fair trial. With my solid legal background, I should have joined the American Civil Liberties Union, the patron of hopeless cases. I didn't, but I do have some compassion for Moussaoui.
As the program moved forward, I felt my emotions grow stronger and stronger. You may sense that, as you read the article which follows. I formed my emotions to flow in a way not particularly consistent with the portrayal I was watching.
But I, like you, perhaps, was moved to tears as the events of that day played out. When the second plane hit the second building, when the towers began to crumble, even as people were perishing, some jumping to their deaths, as the news about the Pentagon came to light, at this point not only did we realize we were being attacked by some foreign power, but more importantly, it may have occurred we were in danger of loosing.
As I watched, I wrote, words about Jesus, "Blessed are the peacemakers", words about injustice, it all spilled out.
So, if I seem too fervent, it's because I mean every word write.
America has seen better days.
God, bless America, and help us in the years ahead.

Mousaoui
Zacarias Mussaoui was sentenced to what some might consider, a fate more painful than death. A lifetime in a cell, no release for meals, no release to work in the prison. Now, in a ABC Special, "not a documentary", a special presentation about the 9/11 attacks, a special which the Sunday Morning News shows declared to be in some instances inconsistent with the facts, or directly contradictory with the facts, as established by the 9/11 commission, has substantized his involvement, forever, to the American people.
He has become not unlike the people of Iraq, a scapegoat, to suffer the blame for a handful of Afghanistanian terrorists, most of whom died on September 11.

Zacarias Mousaoui
Zacarious Mousauui made the airwaves last night. Zacarias Moussaoui, the Frenchman of Moroccan decent, who was tried for his life for his self proclaimed efforts to be involved in the planning to destroy the World trade center, the Pentagon, and more.
Moussaoui was in fact incarcerated during those attacks. Saddam Hussein, after the sentencing of Mousaoui to spent his life in solitary confinement in a one man cell, said that Zacarias Moussaoui had no involvement, knew no pertinent detail, had no specific knowledge which he could have revealed.
Moussaoui expressed hatred for Americans. We Americans have freedom of speech. Thousands have died as we try to bring freedoms to the Arab World. The jurors in the trial of Moussaoui were reminded over and over again of his hatred for Americans.
Americans who are arrested have a "right to remain silent". In America, those tried for murder MUST plead "not guilty". In America, no one can be forced to testify against himself .
The Moussaoui trial was not based on precedent, or points of law; the jury was subjected day to day to the extreme and highly emotional matter of the 9/11 attacks. Relatives of 9/11 victims, and survivors of 9/11, were in the courtroom; they cried, they made outbursts. None of this would have been allowed, had he been adequately defended.
Zacarias Moussaoui is only one victim of this immoral, unjust war. Consider the fine American soldiers, whose lives have been broken by the stress of combat in populated areas involving women and children.
Americas position in the world has been reduced to it's lowest level. I might say we owe this to the whim and caprice of one man who should never have been elected. The same man who would, to benefit the interests of Halliburton, place terrorist friendly United Arab Emirate in charge of the American ports.
Yesterday, in a note to Timothy Sexton, a writer, I wrote:
"...not every conservative is a idiot..." I'm not so sure, Timothy. That suggestion may be actually true! Ok Ok, I'm kidding!! Actually, the conservative is the man in power with an ulterior motive, an agenda. Anyone can see the difficulty with the "pre-emptive" strike on innocent victims, or the unsupervised torture of detainees, but if that man stands to profit, financially, or politically, by choosing NOT to see, there we find the conservative.
I still feel that way.
Three generations of Bushes, and Vice President Richard Chaney, are firmly linked to Halliburton Industries, who repair the damage to Iraq after the bombs and artillery. Halliburton reportedly recently considered taking control of the Dubai ports, which would still have been run by U.A.E.. The plan fell through when the Bush installation of DuBai to run our ports failed to materialize.
August 29, 2006:
".. a report on Public Broadcasting, presented by Norm Ornstein, that the Dubai Ports were possibly going to be bought by Halliburton."
To continue:
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice' sake, for they shall be satisfied."
"Envision a pseudo-political group whose sole interest is in the manipulation of the economy for it's own interests;nNot influenced whatever by legal or moral issues, beyond the need to present an acceptable façade; no concern for social programs, the citizenry, world interests, only, by it's very charter, economic gain.
How much damage could these profiteers do?" BBJ
