Senator Kerry has nothing to Apologize for!

Senator Kerry told the truth and I for one "take my hat off to him". So many people who are running for office only read speeches from note cards that some one else wrote. Sadly we have some so-called high ranking representatives that can't read their scripts that well and we still voted for them. But I like Senator Kerry am just sick of these men and women who never put on a military uniform not even in High School ROTC passing judgment on a man that fought for this country. Yes, actually put their life on the line for this country and not just sent a bunch of poor kids to fight for their reasons. Yes I said poor kids! I was one of those poor kids coming out of high school with great grades and two working parents (really 3 working parents), that had no chance of paying for college. So I joined the Army and only by the grace of God did not end up dying in Dessert Storm. I even talked four other young men to join when I joined because they too had dreams of college and no way of getting their. I know many kids (because that is what we are at 17 and 18) who have died in this Iraq War because of the same reason and for what.
This administration wants me to believe that they care about the democracy of Iraq when they allow children to die here everyday. Look at our school system, the millions without healthcare, the vanishing of the middle class, corporate America sending more and more jobs overseas. This war like every other war is fought on the backs of the poor. My grandmother taught me to clean up my own backyard before I started worrying about my neighbors. Granted some rich kids are in Iraq (not many) but I promise you they have rank. Rank that keeps them a lot safer then the NCOs and privates. I love America but I have become more and more ashamed of this country in the last six years. Do we remember the ideas that this country was founded on. If we want to continue self proclaiming that America is the greatest country on Earth than we need to start acting like it again. That means treating people like equals even if they disagree with you. That means watching out for your neighbors. That means go without that next hundred million and keep a few more jobs here in the great US of A. That does not mean torturing people and holding people (forever without any arena to defend their innocence or guilt) who might be terrorists. That means honoring and showing some respect for the Constitution not at every turn trying to find a why to change or loophole it. We the citizens of the United States make this country something special like any other great team that wins the Championship and the Constitution is our playbook. Just ask the Steelers if they would have won the Superbowl if everybody had started changing the playbook.
