SEAN BELL CASE SUCH A TRAGEDY!!!!!!!!

I know that there have probably been tons of blogs about this, but I had to share my insights on this one. This is some straight "blast from the past" type of stuff. I feel like we are back in the 1950's fighting for the equality that we so rightfully deserve. This has just set us back like 20 years. This was an example sent to the black community that we still hold power over you. We may feel that we are making progress and do not get me wrong we are, but they still have all the power. If you are white you still get more opportunities handed to you than a black man would. And that is just the cold hard truth. And this brings to my next blog topic: Can A Black Really Become The Next U.S. President?

This is not necesarrily a black/white thing

But in todays political climate it is definitely a "political power" thing. The republicans have taken this country back 50 years no doubt about it...I am a white woman and I also am poor...so to me it's more of the haves and the have nots. Power corrupts, and I have seen just as many corrupt black cops as white ones. They are both wrong.

but it's also a credibility thing. No one can blame a jury for not understanding what the reality may be, as was the case in the high profile California cases, because the judge fully knew the parameters of everything, and, unfortunately, the credibility of the witnesses came up as an issue. The background of witnesses isn't always a sign that someone isn't credible, but when three witnesses are all telling different stories, that's about as much reasonable doubt as there is. That, plus one of the detectives was black.

I don't think this has anything to do with whether Obama can or cannot get elected as a president in this country. There may be other factors down the road, but this one stands on its own. I wasn't surprised when I heard the verdict; maybe that's a shame instead.

Reviews of Everything, reviews and opinions of, well, almost anything!

You bring up some very valid points. Just like you expected the verdict, I expect Obama not to win. It's sad, but that is the kind of country we live in!
