*** Our seas are “overfished” from 4.2 tons fish per fisherman in 1903, this number fell to an estimated 1.8 tons in 1980. Illegal fishing methods and pollution contributed to this decline.

*** An amazing 488 out of 500 known coral species in the world (including 6 out of 8 species of sea turtles. And at least 23 species of marine mammals) are found in our territorial waters. However, only less than 5% of the coral reefs in the Philippines are presently in excellent condition.
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that if we don’t take care of our unique wildlife and ecosystems, then the world will lose these wonders forever.
