Scrapbooking--Cut & Paste for Grown Ups

I recently discovered the popular scrapbooking hobby and must say I'm hooked!
I'm making an album for my ten year old and then will create one for my two year old and then re-do our wedding album.
Once I'm done that, I'm sure I'll be creating other albums as I now take pictures with scrapbooking in mind
I am astounded at what a huge business scrapbooking is and how expensive the supplies are.
It's a lot of fun though and I'm wishing I had my own scrapspace in the house so that I wouldn't have to put everything away each time I was distracted. My two year old would LOVE to get his hands on my supplies so I have to scrap when he's asleep and put everything away before he's up.
My ten year old enjoys it too though and is creating his own scrapbook.
There are so many fun ideas and things you can do to preserve your families photographs..
You can even bejewel your pages with jewels and gem lookalikes and create pockets to hold important documents.
There are so many accessories to each and every possible occasion.
I'm trying to get creative with things I have at home too.
I made a page for my son's album of his first room and used the original wallpaper border from his actual room as the backdrop. For his title page, I used the actual newspaper announcement. Scrapbooking is a lot of fun and I find myself looking online for new ideas and what they jokingly call 'Scraplifting' as I 'borrow' ideas from galleries.
Scrapjazz.com is a great source of inspiration.
Be sure if you begin scrapbooking that you utilize extra supplies that you have at home but ensure everything is acid-free. Use gel pens instead of regular pens otherwise over time you will have yellowing pages and the ink will bleed through.
