What Are We Talking About?
When you’re anointed you don’t need anyone telling you. Literally, anointed means to be painted, to be smeared, to be soaked. In “working terms, anointed is to be designated as holy, consecrated, or put aside for a specific and sacred purpose. This is where those who execute certain duties in their local church believe their “talents originate. Anointed could be considered as one being gifted. Some would say it’s singing, teaching, performing administrative duties, any range or task in which one excels could be deemed where they are anointed.

In God’s terms, it is performing these duties whether in church, at work, or recreationally, so that he will get the credit. He has put salve in his hand and drenched, diligently rubbed it all over his intended.

Like the sanctity of marriage, the anointing is to maintain the exclusivity or purity of one’s life to God. It is to be smeared or dipped so heavily that no matter what forces come against you, you will end up accomplishing the task or position God has deemed you to have only because he said it was to be so. It is God’s yea and amen.

Have you ever wondered why Saul, the first king of Israel went through dubious events, or how a backyard kid went from rags to riches with no formal training or schooling to become one of the most notable and recognizable figures in the bible? Where did David come from? God chose two ruddy boys to be the inaugural kings of Israel. They rose from obscurity to notoriety on an anointing.

Operating outside of their element seemed clumsy and there was fear and failure, but God caused both to prosper once they were seated in their respective kingships. Many are called but few are chosen. Called people are appointed to positions, helps and ministries, chosen people are anointed to the latitude.

There is no stopping someone who is anointed, don’t even try. God himself warns the world not to do injury or mess with his prophets. Because of their smearing, it is stressed that they must accomplish this task or position, and God will remove any threat, hindrance or detour which arises for his prophets. He’s that serious about getting his work done.

The chosen, the predestined, are ordained for a specific reason. El Elyon, (God most high), the authority of those that believe, doesn’t go around picking people from hither and yon to do any old task. He’s much too precise. It’s all or nothing because God has a timetable, and reluctance does not change that fact. This timetable is not for God who sits on the circle of time, but for finite man.

From creation God had a plan devised and you are an intricate detail. Wouldn’t you kill a fly trying to land on your masterpiece? We must remember that one thing; this is not our work that we are carrying on from day to day, but that of the Creator.

Before time came into play, God had a game already going and we’re just carrying the baton to the next leg of the race. We feel compelled to complete the course. If it was for our sakes we would give up when the trouble became too great. But, since we are surrounded by a stadium of witnesses, we better run this race for the whole human team.

Who is to say which team member did the most or the best during the race? Does it matter? The important thing is what happens at the end. We are the millennium age runners, I do not know if we are the last or how many other generations of anointed runners will follow us, the point is, we need to do our leg.

ARTICLE CONT'D NEXT WEEK...

The above article is a Christian overview of being an anointed servant of God. It discusses that, once chosen of God, one is sealed to fulfill a specific, or multiple tasks. Some believe in “once saved, always saved, however, this article neither supports nor refutes that belief. It is not to encourage religion or religious rituals, but to seek an honest relationship with God.
