Salad in a Sack

I just made myself a salad. "Made" is a bit of a stretch. I opened the "salad in a sack" package, poured some into a bowl, added a dash of cheese, and sprinkled on a little dressing. I noticed that the sack o' salad had a recipe for Cobb salad on the back. The prep time for this recipe was 25 minutes.

Who the hell do the makers of salad in a sack think are purchasing their products?

I can't help but think that those of us who are sucking back sacks of salad are not the types who are going to spend 25 minutes gussying it up and serving it all fancy. Come on, you know we are just dumping it in a bowl and that's it. Hell, I bet some people eat it right out of the bag!

Salad in a Sack, you have an inflated opinion of yourself. Take it down a notch.

Amen. If I wanted a real salad, I'd take the time to do it properly. That does not include popping open one of those plastic bags that always seem to split 3/4 of the way open.

I cut mine open super carefully so that I could clip it closed to enjoy more salady goodness at a later date :)

What's that???? Ok, seriously, I always read and laugh at those recipies, too. If it's something on the back of a Ritz cracker box, that's different! But ya, if I'm too lazy to shredd lettice and the other crap that goes in the most basic salad - what the hell makes them think their recicpies will be anything more than reading material!

The only reason I'm eating that salad is that it has 15 calories per serving. I'm not getting fancy with it :)

I have another idea that will make us millionaires! How about salad that tastes like chocolate! And each type of lettice can taste like another type of chocolate - white choc, dark choc, milk choc. Oooo, this is GOLD baby! GOLD!

To me, texture is really, really important, so I think what would be better is normal chocolate that has the calorie content of lettuce. Please and thank you.

Who knows HOW to do it, but what we need is chocolate salad with the lack of calories that uky, no-fun lettice provides. Ahhhhh, that would really rock!
