Why Japanese idol music – and why here?

(No rating): Sister blog Radreview is revisiting why he is blogging about J-pop to begin with, and how the stigma attached to crooning preteens in glam outfits remains an obstacle to the medium's progress -- however popular in Japan itself. It's worth mentioning that J-pop and Hello Project specifically (maybe even AKB48 as well) are great marketing engines for everything from cosmetics, fashion, restaurants, hotels, travel and a variety of music products in the CD and DVD markets worldwide. It can be addicting, like any drug, but in the case of J-pop it might be all worth it!
