Round 2- Tomorrow

This past week has been great. It is my week off from treatment. i felt good and was able to be out and about. I had lunch with friends and was able to see my kids in the high school play every night. It felt so good to be normal for a while. But at the same time, it is bittersweet because tomorrow I begin another round of treatment.

Tomorrow I start round 2 of chemotherapy. I will have my blood checked, meet with the oncologist, and then have both of my chemo drugs- Carboplatin and Gemzar. I will be down and out for most of the week after that. I enjoyed the fun of life for a week, but i know that in order to enjoy life for the long term I must give up some of it now. I need to stay focused on the long range goal of remission.

I had lunch this week with a good friend and she gave me a beautiful snowglobe of bluebirds. They are so beautiful. It is to remind me that God has made beautiful creatures and takes good care of them. If He can take care of the birds of the field, then surely He will take care of me as well. That is a my motto for this week as we enter round 2 of chemo treatment. God will take care of me in every way, every day.
