Road to Financial Recovery

Back during the 90's I took the starving artist route. I thought it was the cool bohemian thing to do. I was hanging out with a community of artist participating in shows and craft fairs and although it didn't generate much money I enjoyed it. Four years ago things changed and I found it difficult to get commissioned work. I had not saved any money I was living paycheck to paycheck with a low paying job. I was a full time student with a large amount of money owed to Sallie Mae. I had nothing to show for myself. It sucks not having money.

When it came to money I wasn't taught to save. When I got paid I spent it not saving a penny. I decided to make changes in my life. I started reading finance books. The first one I started with was," The 9 steps to financial freedom by Suze Orman. It's a great book and I learned things about money that were never taught to me. Such as IRA's, CD's. I found additional sources of revenue like Amazon and eBay. I started to pay down my debt and build an emergency savings. I learned to say no to expensive things and to be frugal. It's still a rocky road but I'll get to a place where I won't have to worry about money so much.

Can't say I'm great with money myself, our Step.

Hence, I am hoping that while I remain young and pretty, I might captivate a rich, kindly gentleman who would happily fill my empty pockets. Yes, I am dreaming, but please do leave me to my delusions ;)!
